Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student of shyam lal college Delhi University. I opted this college because of the location of this college which is somehow affordable to me as i am from middle class family. My first year fees was approximately 26800/-. My Second year fees was approximately 27670/-. My third year fees for sure i had summited this month only it was approximately 30000/-. I don't know the fees circular it is increasing per year. There are other colleges also in Delhi University where fees are very less. For example Ramjas college is there my friend is there his yearly fees is around 18000/-. The fees structure should be same for all the colleges. And the cast system for which we are all familiar. Sc cast gets more priority in admission for colleges nowadays. We are all used to it we can't do anything. My per day college transport expense is 120 rupees. I just somehow adjust the expenses I don't know what to do the fees are so high i can't afford

Campus Life

4

There are so many events held in our College campus. Recently anti ragging was the topic for our seminar and our chief guest was SHO of shadara police station hub. Timely all the functions and seminars are occurred to acknowledge the students and faculty. Technologies like projectors are there in limited rooms only they should offer some technology in our college campus. Sports complex is like they just feature and give priority on that sport only in which they are champions like for example our college is on top in hockey so they just spend money on hockey only. I am in college cricket team and i had seen so many things negative aspects like there is not a proper wicket to practice on nets session can't be done. College can't spend some money to the needs of the players for example if we want shoes we raise the voice but our vioce are muted by them. Student groups are not there only on election time the groups come from nowwhere that please vote us and blah blah blah.

Admission

My score was low and i got this college surprisingly my brother had done his graduation from this college only and this college is somehow very near to my place as compared to other colleges. My college fees structure is very high as compared to other colleges of Delhi University. My yearly fees goes 28000 rather the other colleges like ramjas colleges fees is 18000 of my course chemistry honours. Our canteen food prices are also too high for students on comparing to pgdav college their chole bhature price is 20 or 25 rupees but in our College it is 60 rupees. Canteen food price are not affordable to students. I also went to canteen to eat but somehow because of my money problem i couldn't eat anything. Admission process is simple you have to give CUET entrance test and accordingly to your score in it you will get college's.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is somehow good or ok to students. They take time but they do the best. I personally have my best teachers in my course they just guide us like we are children to them. I also ensure my teachers like my mother and father. They all are good my department teachers are all good and their communication with us are too good. I am blessed to have this faculty i will never forget this faculty till my life. In a year two semester are given to us to perform well and to get passed and come closer to each step towards our degree. It's somehow difficult to me to get passed as i am average student with a mentality of sportsperson in me so i prefer sports over studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

The students become eligible for campus placements in the 3rd year of their graduation. Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
