Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course has been now updated in terms of relevance in the current world ( from jr batch 2019). Although methods taught in labs ( physio, biochemistry) are outdated, but the clinical part we learn during postings are so important during the final yr & after you become a doctor - the more you go through patients, the more you get better as a doctor so keep in touch with seniors, The Resident doctors - go to wards whenever a new case is admitted, take history - I emphasize on practical approach

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship is compulsory for 1 year & in our own hospital Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sarvopachar Ruganalay, Solapur We had an 11k stipend for our entire internship, just last 2 months we got an increment so got an 18k stipend Posted in all departments gave me a chance to develop actually Doctor skills, and practical knowledge. application of everything I read as a student As it is a govt hospital, Call days used to be hectic but learning was very fulfilling

Fees and Financial Aid

I come under OBC category, so my fees was 11k in first year , 8k in 2nd yr , around 5.6 k in 3rd yr & 10k in final yr also i didn't stay at hostel so this amount is excluding hostel fees. for hostel around 4k per year was the fee. All reserved categories ( OBC , school, at , vj , nt ) had same fees My friend who was in OPEN category had around 90k fees in first year , and then around 1-1.5 lakh further years I had filled Mahadbt scholarship forms ( Rajarshi shahu Maharaj postmatric scholarship) - for which i used to get half amount credited back to my bank account

Campus Life

4

We had many events, first we had whitecoat ceremony ( orientation) All events used to be organised by second year students We had most awaited SPARSH event every year comprising of Traditional, Toe n Stole, mismatch, Bollywood, Halloween & Rose day - it was really fun We had Kshatriyakulawatauns ( shivjayanti ) event of dance , dhol , lezim other artforms Most loved one was MANOMAY ( Ganeshpooja) event almost a month comprising of many events talent hunt , antakshari, dance , orchestra & most important Sports events, all Batches had their teams for every sport Other than that we used to have symposium competitions Our very own MEDALIUM conference was very special - where other colleges used to participate - it has guest lecturers, poster presentations, hands-on surgical workshops Library was our favourite hub , free books were provided every year based on merit / marks

Admission

I had pretty decent marks & rank in NEET UG 2018 (AIR 23K & state rank 1600) had 4 more colleges above this also this college was in my hometown itself & never had I heard anything bad about this college so I I retained this one This college comes in Top 10 colleges in Maharashtra For OBC, in 2018 cutoff was 450-500 marks (last to first round respectively)

Faculty

4

1yr faculty was friendly, Anatomy faculty was very considerate of all & made us comfortable in the start The dissection was my favourite thing because they used to let us read things before dissecting later they used to teach us every nerve , vessel Physio faculty taught practicals really well In 2nd yr - pharmac faculty used to take tutorial , patho labs were good in condition, we attended so many Postmortems as it was a govt med college We had exam during lockdown, all 2nd ye teachers helped us calm down About Final year - all facilities were hardworking, made us study hard too we had Medicine , surgery postings since 2nd year so it was pretty much familiar to take history, examination part , thank God OBGY was strict - that's why we passed the final university exam We attended all OTs , they used to explain & ask questions during surgeries

In my family there are already 5 doctors including my elder brother that influenced me yo this profession It is a noble profession by which you can save someone's life. Improvement should be done in this course like there should be more practical approach then theoretical one. Exams are internal exams, preliminary exams and university exams. Difficultly level is medium.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is divided into 9 semesters along with a 1-year internship (5.5 years). There are 18 subjects with a different department in the college dedicated to each. The teachers here are really well qualified and have a lot of teaching experience. There are around 10 teaching staffs in each department. There were 2 terminal exams each 3 months. They were moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Positive: The college's infrastructure is really good. Negative: Being a private medical college, a lot of money is charged and they even earn extra money by charging unnecessary numerous times, very expensive admission forms and other expenses. Faculty is okay, selected few are only good. It is placed in a town which isn't well developed (Ahmednagar) There could be more extra curricular events and less restrictions for students living in the hostel, but there aren't.
