Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

At first, I just wanted to study outside of ASSAM and wanted a good and budget-friendly college so I looked up on the internet and searched for colleges neighboring my state and St Anthony's College is very well known in the northeastern part of india so I decided to study in this college and the dept of history is a very decorated college among all the other departments in my college and I had an interest towards history since class 11 so I decided to take upon this course. The college also offers communication skills, and coaching for civil service examinations which would prepare us for further academic pursuits. Compared to the examination level of ASSAM the exams of my college are much harder since it has been affiliated to the central board NEHU.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are internships from the clubs like Anthonian Youth club and they might pay you if you have a good post in that club. Other non stipend internships are also there for social work like working in gurudwara or orphanage in which you will receive a certificate for the social work you have done in that place.

Placement Experience

4.5

There is a placement cell also in our college.Companies like wipro, infosys, union bank of india etc recruited students from my college and the highest package is 2.96LPA in the placement drive. Most of the students who appears for the placement gets recruited, since im a history honours student i will go for competitive exams or i will purse my MA after getting the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay around 23k every year and for 3 years it gets around 63k, we have to pay the fees in a quarterly manner. When you fill out the form of admission you have to pay 1000 INR and if you get selected you have to pay 16k within 24 hours of your selection. These 16k are the 1st-semester fees and in the 2nd semester you have to pay around 7k and there are no other fees after that but due to NEP, you will have to study one extra year so you have to pay an extra 23k. The BA courses are lesser compared to the BSC, Media, and Commerce course fees and there is no reservation for st, sc and others because the whole state is ST majority state basically the selection process, is on a first come first serve basis and for the students who are weak in studies and got less percentage in the 12 they could apply for the evening batch in my college and if they maintain a 100% attendence record throughout 4 years you will get the whole tution fees back from the college.

Campus Life

4.5

We have our college week during the month of february or march when the college reopens after the winter break. We have concerts, cosplay competition, prom, sports etc during the college week. Every classroom have a projector and most of the teaching is done throught slides, photos and ppt, not in the old way of writing on the board only. We also have inter college competitons like sports, debates and extempore speech and the best rival of our college is St Edmunds college during these competitions. There are also clubs like NSS, NCC, Anthonian youth club , Rangers and rovers etc whole organise various activities throught the year.

Admission

You have to get above 70% to get a major in your subject and there are no extra exams to get selected the selection process is through the marks of you class 12 and first come first serve basis there is not reservation for ST,SC, etc.

Faculty

4.5

We have around 35-40 students per class and the teachers are very well known as they are passouts from universities like Jamia Milia University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. The teachers always keep a track that every students is paying attention in the class and and they even interact with us individually, the teachers are very friendly with all the students and they even give their number so that we could ask them question if there are holidays or study leave befor exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was not my actual mind to opt my major which is history, since it was hard to find open colleges late I had to adjust to it. It might be better since I had a habit of remembering things that are upto no use in the present or maybe better for securing jobs as it is quite in needy in these aspects. It's still not very clear in my part but it partially taught us the basics It gives us 3 hours of time per paper and it's not very different or very hard because it has been always the same pattern along with the portions

The course is quite vast. But it only consisted of three subjects for my batch before NEP. We only have Western music, Hindustani classical music and regional music. But courses with NEP has a lot. And not just focuses on music but extras too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The way they prepare the question is the main reason for me to choose this college. They really provide not only bookish knowledge but also how to deal with the real world. The examination that they conduct are very reasonable because they give us the amount of time that a normal students need to be prepared for an examination. So I think it's quite reasonable and nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In UCC, earlier my brother and sister also studied and i could not make in Anthony's and Edmund's, so I choose this college. The allocation of college is one the best I have seen so far. It is best for those who want to be something in life because the college is little bit far from the main town and the local near this college also not allow any consumption of alcohol, drug, weed etc in the village. They even not allowed to sell them. I like this college as it is. So I don't want to comment on the improvements. The timing odlf exams is similar with other colleges, 3 hours.

NEHU syllabus is quite good I should say, especially with the introduction of the NEP(New Education Policy) Well regarding the curriculum, I would say the teachers play and important part regarding that situation. However, exams or tests are becoming quite a headache for the students compared to the duration of our courses

I choose the college because as a North Eastern NEHU university is considered one of the best education providers and St Mary's is the best option for women and as have taken geography the campus has the best view with facilities in terms of practical and surveys for geography students teachers are also really reliable and down to earth really helpful and they don't prefer using local language they teach in English so that it will give the student the comfort they wanted exams are also been conducted every semester and it's difficult to pass but the facilities are good
