Remarks
Until a few years ago this was only a boys college. The management vvery thoughtfully transformed it into a co-ed college by allowing girls also to study for overall development of the students. This was a good move by the management to give equal opportunity to everyone.
Entrance Preview
To join the college, I had to clear the college's entrance test and interviews. I had been a josephite previously and also was accustomed to the way of life over here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is vast and updated with the current trend in the industry. There are assignments, projects, research modules.
Internships Opportunities
We had a Placements officer who would be in charge of facilitating internship opportunities for the students. There are 2 internships that I had to opt for in 3 years course. The average stipend ranged around Rs.20000/- for a months duration
Placement Experience
Final year students had placements drive for them during which a majority of the students were placed in companies like Ernst & Young, KPMG, Delloite, Amazon, Mu Sigma. The min pay package was 3lac+ p.a
College Events
The first fest is Kalotsav, an inter class cultural fest where a numerous competitions are held like dancing, singing, photography, art and creativity, beat boxing, etc. The business fest- Cipher is an interclass fest where teams and individuals from each class take on each other in best manage, HR, PR roles.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is affordable. The first year fees is relatively less. And the second year fees was 56000 and the final year fees was 66000. The fees though increases every year, I found it to be justified with the infrastructure that was provided by the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are few scholarships offered by the college to economically poor and merit students and also for those who excel in extra curriculars.
Hostel Facilities
There are no hostel facilities offered by the college. The food at the college canteen is very cheap and economical. The menu options are limited and doesn't meet the youth needs.
Alumni/Alumna
There is an old Students Association and an Alumni Association. They do provide few scholarships to few students.
Exam Structure
There is continuous internal assessment for 20marks. Then there are mid term exams for 30 marks. And then at the end of the semester there were final exams for 100 marks which reduced to 50. So the final exams were a bit chilled.
Faculty
The faculty are well versed in the subjects they are dealing with and are NET qualified. I could approach the teachers at any time and they were more than happy to clear all doubt's. Majority of the faculty members are also involved in research.
