What Students Say

Likes

Our college is best in many fields such as easy admission process and sports as well.
My campus life is good and my friends make it amazing with so many memories with them.
Faculty is well educated with good temperament,easy teaching methods and with real life examples.

Dislikes

But there is less chances and lack of mentorship skills in our faculty members
Infrastructure is good but need some improvement in upcomimg times and most importantly needs to improve the food quality.
Rare chances of placements are there in our college and advancements chances are low

Course Curriculum Overview

1] Some aspects like my interest in the field of accounting attracts me the most to choose this curriculum 2] I learned many new things in this course especially in the accounting field like tally course. 3] There needs to be room of space for the improvement in the curriculum. 4] There is two types of exams like Mid semester exams then the final exams and to be fair it is very easy if a student daily join classes can get good marks or can top easily.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

1] There is no increase in tution fees otherwise I dont know it . 2] My total cost of education is about 2 lakhs and seperate tution fees 50000 and other services transporation is also involved in the cost of education. 3] Not have the knowledge about the scholarships and did not indulge in that. 4]NO

Campus Life

1] There is many technical festivals which are associated in our college like youth festival,science fest and sports festivals. and all are held in december in consecutive days. 2] There is thousands of books available in libraray and any sthdents can access it easily. 3] No technological faciltities within the classrooms. 4] NCC and Nss offered students many chances in sports field. 5] CSF party runs social groups and impact students in a positive ways.

Admission

1] Students must be pass in class 12th in order to eligible for the course. 2] A students must visit website sggs login .in in order to fill application form,application fees and applcation dates. 3] No details of reservation benefits. 4] Exams are not difficult for all for average students. 5] Simple admission process..

Faculty

1] The learning experience is good and teachers alawys guides students in a good way. 2] The faculty members are well trained and there teaching skills is expertised. 3] To be fair my interaction with teachers is not that that much and approached towards my is not so often due to my lack of presence in classroom.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course B.Com (hons in finance and accounting). Look teachers will reach you the syllabus bit the rest you have to cover your all. For that library and computer facilities would be given to you. The library contains a lot of books which you can refer for extra material.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for placement after you 4th semester , They will also provide you noc if required for your placement, they actually dont have good companies I personally didn't went for placement because i have some other plans but some of my friends were there for placement, and from them I came to know that the companies are offering only 20-25 k month and on a remorte location, according to me which is not sufficient . Percentage of students got placements were around 50%. My plan after degree is that i am opting MBA because bcom hons is not such a huge degree that you will get good income from that only ,so if you want to boostup you career I suggest you must go for atleast MBA.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

Review of SGGS College Sector-26, Chandigarh by a first sem student (Honest review)

I applied to other 5 colleges too which are affiliated by Panjab University and have BCA course. Seats from two colleges were offered to me, one from the college I took admission in and another from the 50 sector post graduate government college. I didn't take admission in the 50 sector post graduate government college because of campus. That college has small campus compared to SGGS college. My admission got rejected in other colleges like SD college, DAV college, PGGC Sector-11 because of there high merit list. The procedure for taking admission in my college is simple. First you need to fill a form in which you have to show your 12th and 10th examination marks and then they prepare a list and give admission to those who have high percentage. Then they call you and offer seat. If you are interested in taking admission then say them yes and then the staff will ask you to pay the admission and tuition fees and done.
