Shimla is queen of himachal pradesh, seeing its unbounty beauty, i chose this college and give my priority as 3rd and i got selected for the same. Not only nature beauty, even people of himachal are very good on all the aspects on humanitarian grounds. I loved to be there and missed everything being there. Last but not least, college campus, premises, study environment all are wonderful.As i am from himachal, i do not leave my native state

Course curriculum is awesome, not a single course is left which comes under biotechnology that may be plant tissue culture, bioinformatics and nanotechnology. All the practicals were also designed so that we have hands on experience. Along with we have to write a review article in winters break along with a handful, helpful dissertation in the biotechnology campus only.

Yes they do provide. I got INR 1200 per month for 2 years not only in internship time, even throughout. Overall experience was awesome in all the aspects. During internship time, mentor and seniors helped a lot in doing various experiments.

We do not have campus placement in our department, but regarding job there are huge opportunities- as faculty infuse us with high spirit of qualifying the NET-JRF examination. And 80% of students in a batch qualified the exam and once you qualified there are countless opportunities.

Fresher party and farewell parties are organised in the biotechnology department only with full entertainment and homely environment. Other events are celebrated in campus of himachal pradesh university like Himachal day, hostel functions for the welcome of freshers, and various functions of political aprties

Fee structure s very much feasible for biotechnology course, just INR366 for 1 semester for non-himachali students and just INR66 for himachali students. Examination fee and hostel fee is also very less as compared to other universities. Admission fees is also negligible

Yes we get good scholarship of amount INR 1200 per month while other colleges under JNU provides only INR 800. And with no extra expenses of anything

Campus life was fantastic can be tough for the people who does not belong to himachal, as no convenience was available in the campus, all you have to do is to walk all the time. Gender ratio is almost equal and viable. In our batch 13 students belonged to 5 different states so such a unity in diversity i never saw anywhere till date

Hostel facilities are not very good in terms of hygiene and mess food. I stayed in renuka hostel, it was best there but still i found many problems to survive specially food quality was not good. Due to tough terrain of shimla, water is not available throughout the day so at times there was no water

Alumni network is very sound with different social medias like Facebook, Linkedin etc. Yeah senior students are very helpful in guiding us for MSc.dissertation and various different projects.

Exam structure is also well versed with both theory and practical sections. Theory paper is for 100 marks and 50 for practical. In theory paper there were 8 questions- we have to attempt 5 questions and 1st question with different 20 parts is compulsory.

First i qualified All India combined biotech entrance test conducted by JNU, then a list of 30 colleges under this entrance was send to me then have to give our priority list for 10 colleges. My first preference was JNU, 2nd was HPU, shimla, 3rd was GNDU. Amritsar and so on. Then i get a letter regarding selection at HPU, and then orientation.

Faculty-intelligent, helpful, cooperative, and supportive. Words can be less in front of them. As people from different states minimum representative of 5 states in each batch, but still faculty never discriminates on any ground and very nice to all of us. They always welcomes us at any time for any queries.
