Life changing journey

I have only good words to say about my college because it deserves it. Whatever I am right now, I am because of the name and experience I got from Ximb and life in it.

I took XAT and scored 94 percentile. The main reason behind choosing this college was the overall ranking plus the course which was been offered.

The course curriculum was amazing. It was a real life changing experience. The amount of efforts which we put in were enormous. The electives were all the important ones which are used in the real business world with some very good professors who had vast experience in their respective fields.

Yes my college provide internship. The general stipend varies from 20,000 to 25,000 per month. The overall experience was rich in terms of the scenarios which we use to face. I had a very strict boss and I learned a lot of things such as punctuality in corporate world and how to negotiate amongst many other things which I learned.

Our college observed 100% placement from the BM batch. There were round about 80 companies which came on campus which includes big names such as Tata steel, Deloitte, PWC, Axis bank, BPCL, SBI bank, DHFL pramerica, L&T finance etc. The average salary offered was 12L.

There were numerous fests which were organized. There were almost 20 committee in our college and every committee used to arrange some competition and quizes or the other. Such as for operations we had X-Ops and marketing we had Maxim. The annual fest is known as Xpression which has been awarded the best fest among all the BSchools of India.

The fee structure is as follows: Tuition fees is 18lacs Hostel fees is 20000 per year. The fees is quite feasible because of the student loan. Plus the fees is easily repaid to the banks with the salary which is offered to us. I believe that no fees is too expensive for a college like Ximb which holds a good rank.

Yes there are many loan facilities available and not the scholarship. I took it from HDFC bank for total amount of 15Lacs and out of which half the amount have been paid off in just 13 months.

The gender ratio of our college was 50:50. There are lot of societies or committee which we used to call them. Many extra curricular activities and competition we're organized by each and every committee. Also every committee used to throw party for all every now and then. So it was a lot of studies and lot of partying both.

There are three types of hostel which are offered- first is the international hostel which has both individual and sharing basis stay option. The second is the executive hostel which again offers the same options and thirdly there is the old hostel which again offers the same options. Mostly student prefers the old hostel as group work and studies is quite easy while staying there due to the number of rooms plus the geography of the hostel rooms.

The alumni network of Ximb is really strong and huge. Regular meetups are organized in main cities around the world. They are really helpful too. Whenever someone needs to get in touch with an employee from a particular industry or company, alumnis help everyone to get in touch with them. I strongly feel the urge to grow my connection and network with people from various industry to enhance my knowledge just like the alumnis.

Exams were quite hectic as we used to have a lot of online test in every semester for every subject. During a semester we used to appear around 20 such test in total before appearing in the final semester exams. This was a great help in terms of preparation for the exams as we used to prepare it well before the actual exams. We also used to have a lot of corporate competition where we applied all the learnings from our electives.

After scoring in XAT I received a call letter for the interview from the institute. I attended the interview which consisted of two parts: first was technical and second was current affairs plus scenario based questionnaire. After clearing the interview I was offered admission through a call letter which I received on my email.

The faculty of the college are like diamonds. Their reputation proceeds them. Each and every faculty have had a cast experience not only in teaching but also in various industries. Ximb is also ranked high due to the number of faculties which holds PhD degrees as well which tells us about the level of education which was provided to us.
