SUT academy - Analysis

The curriculum is structured over a 5.5-year period including one year internship. Three phases are there, first is preclinical including anatomy physiology, and biochemistry. The next phase is para clinical including pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, and forensic medicine. The last phase is clinical subjects including Medicine, surgery, Obstretic and Gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and pediatrics. The last one year is an internship in all the above departments. Courses include Practical and theory examinations, research, and library assignments to evaluate students. There will be skill labs every six month to improve clinical knowledge which is conducted by Experienced senior faculties.

A compulsory internship of one year should be done after completing studies. This should be done in all departments rotating one to two months in each department. A stipend of 10,000 is currently given per month.

The tuition fee is decided by the Kerala Government, which is now around six lacs. This is the tuition fee. Other than this there is a special fee of around 50,000. Internships are provided after completing study which is 10,000 per month.

Campus life is good. However, there is not much infrastructure for extracurricular activities. There is a playground and tournaments are conducted by the students union every year. There is a dance and music club for intermedico arts programs.

Admission is done by Kerala entrance examination based on rank in NEET examination. People with caste-based reservations have more preferences. Application is done under KEAM. We can fill the colleges according to our preference and they will allot the college according to our rank.

Faculty members hold advanced degrees like MD, MS, MCh, etc. They are well experienced in the clinical field and have completed their fellowship in specialized areas from reputed institutions. Faculty members often engaged in continuous medical education to stay updated.
