Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our curriculum is really hectic. There something called CBME curriculum implemented from the 2019 batch. It is ambitious. But it does make the struggles of us students harder. You'll never be free from exams. There'll be atleast 2 internal exams and 1 model exam each year followed by a university exam. It is really stressful. The syllabus is vast and it does take some time getting used to the subjects and figuring out the way of presentation of answers. Clinics too are well charted out, exposing us to all departments. There are talks of NEXT which is meant to change the way students graduate integrating neet pg to the final year exams. But it is still speculation and know one actually knows the direction in which it'll proceed. Again, this course isn't for the easy goers.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I got in, our government stipulated fee was 6,22,000. There was an additional charge of 50,000 during our admission. So now every year I pay 6,22,000 for the 5 years I'm here. The aforementioned fee is for a govt seat. There is another category for NRI's where they'll have to pay around 15 to 20 lakhs suring my admission year Now, the fee has increased to around 8 lakhs per year. Also there are some financial aids to students belonging to some categories

Campus Life

2

Social aspect of the college is really sub-par. Fests and events are seldom held. Students rarely get any events to blow some steam off. It isn't any good compared to some engineering colleges. But the fests that are conducted are good. We do have an auditorium where most fests are conducted. There are some intercollege events like South zone and intermedicos where the students could compete against other colleges. That is a lot of fun. We do have a good library with all the books one need. There is a quiet reading area where we could sit and read.

Admission

We all get alloted a college based on our neet UG rank. I personally chose this college as I could commute daily from my home. And one advantage of this college is that you do not need to pay any hostel fee if you're not opting for hostel which isn't the same for some other medical colleges in the area.

Faculty

5

Our faculties are some dedicated and skilled doctors who guide us through our academic work. They take their time to help us students in every way. The clinics classes are really good. We get to interact with patients under the guidance of our doctors. As in every college, there are some faculties who aren't as keen in teaching us. But majority of them are willing to help us. One of the main highlight of our college are the distinguished faculties

Night Life

1

Nightlife is non existent. Girls hostel closes at 6.30 PM and boys' at 10 PM. There is a cafeteria which serves good food and snacks. Both girls and boys hostel has a gym where students could excercise. There are a very few hangout spots in the "campus"

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a bit tough rather than other courses (professional courses) MBBS is a 4 year course with 1 year compulsory internship dealing with a total of 13-4 subject over the 4 years The curriculum prepares us for the real world experiecne but more often the clinical subjects aim in patuent student interaction that overall help in the achievemnt of professionalism The frequency if exams are very high as there needs to be regular revision of subjects in order to prepare for the finals and perfect in all clinical theory and oractical aspects

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.
