Fees and Financial Aid

Our college has the least fee amount comparing to other colleges in kerala Every year according to government policy there is a 10 percent increment in fees compared to previous year which is applicable for all self financing medical college kerala But over all our college fee is affordable comparing with all other college For NRI students annual fee structure is 20 lakh For general and obc category it is about 7 lakh and not exceeding that Then special fee per year is between 40k to 50 k annually For SC ST and OEC no fee payment is needed Hostel fee for all ranges between 80k to 1.3L Government of kerala provide scholarship for students belonging to bpl category based on certain criteria to pay a fee amount of 70,000 only annually, which is very much affordable for financially backward students Our college provides facilities more when compared to fee we are providing They not even force us to pay fees It is our choice when we need to pay our fees They are very approchable and friendly to students More over for students the treatment provided in our college is free of cost No money is charged from any students for medical checkup or treatment So in my opinion opting mbbs as an option in sut medical college is very much affordable and fincially not a heavy burden for students Because bank provides educational loan according to fee structure given by our college So rest expenses are very much minimum in our college as compared to other colleges in kerala There is no unnecessary expenses that management impose on students as compared to other college from my point of view I belong to a normal middle class family and i am currently studying final year Until now i have never felt any guilt on opting mbbs in sut medical college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doctors are always a need for the society. The curriculum deals mainly in healing people which attracted me towards it. The curriculum has specific competencies a student should achieve in order to be competent as an Indian Medical Graduate. These competencies are set of skills every student should acquire. Teaching should be more practical oriented and theory should be reduced. More competencies should be included. Frequency of exams doesnt affect much. but portions to be studied for each exams are bit heavy. Difficulty level is moderate to hard

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course facilitates learning in each and every department of the medical college which gives us accessibility on how each wing works..giving us an idea to help decide where we see our future. Since we start clinical practice from our 2nd year and interactions with the patients continously it prepares us for almost every situation, since it is a government college we see all kinds of people from all backgrounds, giving us a different type of exposure. Some departments have fewer faculty making it difficult for them to care for the students and patients at the same time so the students maybe left unattended. Exams occur almost on a monthly basis, some harder than the others, but all are quite easy to pass with adequate studying.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of our study is prepared by National medical council and all the government medical colleges and private medical colleges in India are compelled to follow their rules. I like medical profession because I really likes the biology I opted it. The teaching method in government medical colleges are little bit different from that of our schools since we have clinical classes to handle also other professors are very good at teaching us by the aids of projection. MBBS courses very difficult to study also very interesting to study we have early basis exams in which each exam is conducted it the end of the year since the course is five and half years, in which four and half years of teaching and one year of internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose MBSS out of my own personal interest. However bewarned, it is not for everyone. Its a very hectic life. There are much less faculty available for each student but that is the case in every medical college. All faculty are mbbs, PG and PSC passed. They are very dedicated, if free from other works. Exams are very plenty, almost too much for most students. Passing an exam itself is a hurdle for most people and all subjects are indeed hard to cover
