Course Curriculum Overview

4

One of the major reasons I chose Patkar college was the good subject combinations they have.My subject combination was English,History and psychology and since patkar is an autonomous college the choice of portion was so nice and interesting topics specially literature.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee amount itself is very reasonable for the whole year.In my degree's first year it was just rupees 5505.My sister too is in patkar right now in Junior college her fee was literally rupees 410 for the whole year.Plus one bonus point is there is a special scholarship for girls which makes the fee even more less. Its very considerate and quite a good deal for such a quality study experience for such a less price.

Campus Life

3.5

Honestly the Campus is quite decent too. There is some space to hang out in front of the building a shade with benches at one corner and also some more benches and greenary at the back of the campus. The canteen is also quite decent and the food there is really good.

Admission

The admission process is quite simple standard as regular collges. The cut off for 1st list in Arts was around 70% at the very bottom of the list 87% for science and 70% for commerce for open category and it keeps getting a little lower up to 50-55% in the 2nd and 3rd lists. There is also a speacial list after all the rounds. And ofcourse the cut off is much lower for special caste category people who don't belong to general/open category.

Faculty

5

I must say the faculty members which I had throughout my degree course were great! They made our learning experience much good. Our class once had difficulty in one of the Semester 5's topic our professor literally taught the same excercise and made us solve it in the class like 20 times until everyone's doubts were cleared. They helped us throughout the year even at the last moments before the exams a day prior with any minor queries so overall the faculties are very good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The English Department faculty is renowned in the entirety of Mithibai. The course curriculum is adequate, so I wouldn't want to change much about it. We have carefully planned out the teaching methods employed in our classrooms every year. One of our teachers, for example, would like us to read the material one or two days prior to the day we would discuss it on.

The faculty really impressed me so it made learning about psychology even fun and easy to understand They used to have activities based on the current topic so that students get a grip of it in reality Other than that of psychology the other faculties were a little dull so maybe that can change There are 4 exams along the year 2 unit tests and 2 semesters unit being mcq's and sem being for subjective briefings

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested in Psychology which is why I opted for this course. Social psychology was especially very interesting to me. The curriculum is good when it comes to future prospects of giving competitive exams. However, it doesn't prepare you a lot for real-life applications as much. The course can definitely include more practical experiments which would make the subject more interesting. Better assignments/projects would also be beneficial. The exams were twice in a year. They weren't very difficult and easy to clear if one studied the portion well. However, I do feel that the exam pattern could be more application-based.
