Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum is decided by KTU(Kerala Technological University). The curriculum is a bit outdated but the university changes the whole curriculum every once 4 years in order to accommodate the changing industry and career opportunities. The course helps to understand the basics of the respective branches. Even though the exams are a bit tight scheduled, appropriate study leave is given to the students.

Placement Experience

3

Third year and fourth-year students are eligible for placements. Companies like Qburst, TCS, Byjus, and Applexus have visited and offered placements for the students. The average package is 6LPA. I plan to be placed at any one of the companies with a good package and prepare for the gate exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The students admitted through the keam exam should pay Rs35,000 or Rs60,000 depending on merit or management seats. Scholarships provided by the government and other financial aid are also available here. I pay nearly 67,000 rupees a year.

Campus Life

3

The techno fest conducted in our college is very good. It's one of the plus points and what differentiates us from other colleges. The students are very active and the cultural fit is very rich and good. Student-run programs are present in our college like IEEE and NSS.

Admission

Students are admitted through the KEAM exam. The cut-off for the merit seat, when I got admission, was 11,000 for general and 20,000 for non-general students. All the details about the admission can be downloaded from the college's official site or KEAM site. The admission process is a bit laggy and can take time. My recommendation is to have a specific timetable for a batch of different students for the admission process than to have everyone come for admission on the same date.

Faculty

3.5

Many faculty members hold advanced degrees from prestigious institutions. They also provide practical knowledge. The faculties are friendly and supportive. You can approach them any time for help and advise.

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
