What Students Say
Likes
- I like how the campus is big and it isn't so much suffocating. Socialising is easire when you have a beautiful campus.
- The classes starts at 8.30 am which helps us wake up earlier and keep our routine better. Most of the teachers teach very well and they know their field.
Dislikes
- Well honestly, everybody knows how good students are favoured by teachers. Infact if ur an average or a below average student, nobody will notice you. In my case i'm an average student but I find it very hard to approach the teachers when I have doub
- Teachers do not approach the average or below average students which makes it harder for them to learn better. Or maybe students who are embarassed to ask questions. I personally feel like teachers should be able to understand these.
- The equipment used, for instance the projectors does not work very well and considering the price we paid on fees, i feel like the equipments and facilities could be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, I have always wanted to study Bcom and that was how i started checking colleges that provided the course. St Edmund's is known to have one of the best teaching staff plus it is acollege where ny cousins graduated so u chose it. The course for us has 6 semester wherin every semester has three subjects we should be studying. Among the three subjects ,there is an honours paper. One semester is about 5 months or less. Even thought there are only three subjects, the content is very vast. So the teachers sometimes rush things a lot and it makes us hard to catch up. Overall, i love the course.
Internships Opportunities
I am not sure because I have never paid any mind to it. But i have come across a lot of them sent in class groups. Maybe ask other students about it because i really do not know about this. As far as i know it a lot.
Placement Experience
Placements are provided but i haven't really minded it. As for me i would go for competitive exam such as SCC and work hard to get in. My goal is to only get a degree so i can give exams. I also hope that everyone knows which field they should go into.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are paid every semester. The amount for which is 23,600 each semester which adds to an amount of 47,200 each year. It indeed is an expensive course. Tuition fees included was like 23,800 a semester. The scholarships money amount to 15 to 18k
Campus Life
I am not a ocual person but ever since i came to Edmund's i am able to socialise well. There are a lot of different clubs which i haven't joined but it gives opportunities for people to socialise more. On college week events, i am able to socialise more because it is fun to be around people at times. I really love St. Edmund's college.
Admission
Every detail is on the St Edmund's official website. In my case my percentage was 70.6 so i was able to get in immediately. The cutoff id 55% and you might get a chance if and only if students don't claim their seats. Exams are 3 hrs for 5 questions carrying 15 marks each. Well it certainly is very hard to write for such at only 3 hrs time but with practice yeah.
Faculty
Well, I have checked the profiles of the faculty and i am not very satisfied with it. The teachers mostly are M.com graduates which is a very low educational status for someone who is teaching as a professor in a college. Most of the teachers teach very well, they elaborate points for us and are patient with us. Teachers also conduct different debates and presentation opportunities wherein students get the chance to practice their speaking skills and all. Incase we have doubts and the class is over, we are able to go meet the teachers or if we are a bit shy about it we could contact them anytime.
Other Applied Colleges
St Anthony's College | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
Well it was my first choice, but i couldn't get in because on that year the CBSE results were declared late and most seats were already full. But I certainly do not regret studying in St.Edmund's College.
