Nothing as such. I loved studying there. It gave me an opportunity to let people know that college name does not matter but how well you prepare yourself during your exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I mentioned in my earlier survey that who so ever professor they are well versed in the particular subject they teach us. They know and have depth knowledge they teach us. But yes I wish we have campus recruitment in our college but I did not see happening.
Placement Experience
I do not see any companies that comes to the colleges and it’s not with Shillong college but I heard most of the colleges in Shillong do not have campus recruitment due to which we are not able to explore the job market all over India or within the state.
College Events
College week, independence, republic and the festivals that are there in a calendar year like Diwali, Dushera, Muharam, Holi, Janmashtami, Sankranti, Good Friday, Christmas, New Year, Bengali New Year, Durga Puja, Eid, and few other festivals which am not able to recall.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible and we mostly paid cash. Also the college is very much transparent in their fee breakdown. There is no additional fees or you do not need to pay any kind of donation to study there. So any family can afford their daughter/son’s fees to study there.
Fees and Financial Aid
It’s quite reasonable to study in Shillong college. One does not need to take a loan to study there. Even a Lower middle class family can afford their child to study there.
Campus Life
It’s was a diversity college. No bias against any caste or religion. We were there as one that’s Shillong college students and nothing more than that. Seniors and professors were always ready to support you anytime. Friendly environment in respective with the work in that college.
Alumni/Alumna
They are nice and cooperative. Seniors do not bother you with anything and first and foremost no ragging. Love of the students, love and respect each other.
Admission
I got admission due to my merit. It was not a tough to get in there as they believe in the students rather than concentrating on the marks that they had score. They took just 5 mins interview and I was selected and I was grateful to this college who had given me an opportunity to grow and study.
Faculty
Most of the faculties are well qualified and highly educated and they will be within the age range of 35 to 50 years. I feel each and every teacher have good knowledge in their particular subject they teach us. They are aware of what are taught to the students and they are very helpful in nature
