- Better infrastructure and well maintained campus
- Case exposure is high as wards are always full
- Even if syllabus is vast there is place for enjoyment through programs arranged at college
Dislikes
- Though there is case exposure there is no stress on clinical skills in the academics mainly theory part is given focus
- Classes could be made more interesting and interactive
- The stress on theory part is so high as the number of theory exams is so much when compared to clinical practicals
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum has changed just 3 years back so it is relatively new for us..the main part of it is assessing the skills and recording it periodically with the help of logbook certain new changes with regard to curriculum is on the way and will be implemented in the upcoming batches
Internships Opportunities
The internship is provided by the college itself after the completion of 4 years of undergraduate course.. students are posted both at various departments in the college as well as in the nearby PHCs. The stipend offered is 25k per month and efforts are being taken for the stipend hike by 5%
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the mbbs course is comparatively less also the hostel fees is also less which is to be paid annually but financial assistances in the form of various scholarships are available....during the internship program about 25k per month is provided
Campus Life
Kozhikode medical college provides wonderful campus with a better infrastructure and a beautiful garden. Different programs for the purpose of entertainment are also arranged by the college union. There are different clubs like literary sports arts dance music etc
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are provided by the college and is well maintained quarters with a hall bedroom and a kitchen.a total of 6 ppl stays in that room and the fees is also very less and is paid annually..regarding the food the quality is not that good but the menu is a better one including non veg options like chicken and fish everyday
Admission
The admission was based on neet marks and rank..I got admission via state quota and I also had an OBC reservation..the exam was moderately hard and the application processes are all done via online platforms and is easy to do
Faculty
Most of the faculties are so qualified and are very good in the teaching part some of them are so keen that they stress so much from the basics.the theory classes of most of the faculties are better but personally I prefer the the classes during postings
