Likes

The architectural design of OIST is the best among all the colleges in the city, due to which it is a center of attraction to movie production houses for filming as we get to see various actors and actresses in real time.
It has one of the most top notch faculties as they provide quality education and clears doubts efficiently.

Dislikes

It give less holidays as compared to other colleges of the same level.
Its erp system is one of the worst as it increases 0.5% attendance of one day and decreases 1-2% for being absent on one day. Such insanely wrong calculations.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this CSE-(AIML) course because after seeing the potential of AI during the next few years, I believe that demand for AI Engineers and ML Engineers during the next few years will increase so considering that in minde i chose this branch. Areas of improvement in this subject is that they should remove Non-technical subjects which they teach in first year like beee, ed, m1, m2 etc. They should start directly from course topics.

Internships Opportunities

Since, I am a first year currently, I don't know much about the internship opportunities but I am sure it will be amazing and will help us to improve us and our resume so that we can get more placement opportunities.

Placement Experience

The placement of my college should be considered average as some major companies like TCS, Wipro, etc give major opportunities. Students become eligible for placements during 6th sem. My plans after getting degree was If I got placement with good package, I will continue to work efficiently and improve my resume. Otherwise, I will give IBPS PO exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

During the first year total fee was 131500 which includes 127000 tution fee and 4500 for dress fee. It will remain constant for the next 3 years it says. There are bare minimum scholarship available for general category.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of college was pretty amazing. There are various books available in the library. Moreover, there are literally no sports events in our college. Months ago there were Tech Fest and it was amazing event.

Admission

The admission process was pretty smooth and easy going. I took admission from mpdte counseling and rest of the process was done from there. The only bad thing was that they ask full semester fee during the time of admission which is bad considering the less privileged families. It should be around 10000-20000.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is most probably 1:70. It sometimes hinders the learning experience as if someone who's shy can't ask doubt in the midst of the whole classroom. But we can always interact with the teachers anytime during the college hours and they never fail to clear our doubts. They always take clear and effective approach to teach us.

SGSITS: JUST A BIG BRAND

Placement Experience:

At the end of 2nd year, companies like goldman sachs comes to take interns. For placements students become eligible from 6th or 7th semester. In recent years goldman sachs is the biggest recruiter, oracle and Deloitte have also recruited, other firms like tcs and infosys also come. Giants like Amazon and google have stopped visiting since few years. Last year highest package was 72 lpa to an ece student. Average lies around 8 lpa. In tech branch 70-80% students are placed. In lower branches 50-60% students are placed. My plan is also to get placed at a decent package after completion of course.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to get placed and many companies visits every year for placement and approx 60-70% students gets placement every year.As per my knowledge there is no company which has made no offer.Average package is about 6-7 lakhs per annum.My plan is to take good package from on campus placement drive.If I am unable to get this then I will try for off campus placement and I also want to do MTECH after graduating.

Placement Experience:

Campus Pl start from the 7th semester with good companies visiting for core branches popular recruiters are tafe eichers, CG power, Disa. Cognizant and Infosys for the IT roles also. The average package is up to the 6 LPA. After completing my degree I am planning To join a good company of the mechanical branch which helps me in building my career in the core engineering field.

I applied to OIST after reviewing many other colleges in Bhopal, under which comes LNCT, TIT and SIRT. Personally, to me OIST seemed like a better option, because it found that it provided good opportunities in terms of placements, quality of education, support from faculty, and financially as well. I was not rejected from other colleges but my preferred branch was not offered to me, hence I had to look for other options as well. At OIST, the admission process is quite smooth since admission can be done through JEE counselling or through MP DTE counselling as well. OIST Bhopal has best faculties!!
