Remarks

I do not like management of BIT. Any work in college is very lengthy and takes time. Result declaration of exams is very slow. After giving the exam we get the results after 2-3 months. Much improvement is needed in administration.

Entrance Preview

I am doing B.E.(Mechanical) not have done postgraduate (in upper section by mistake selected % in postgraduate but no option to deselect). Due to my rank in JEE MAIN and my choice(mechanical), I am not getting any other college MUCH better than this and also this college is nearest to my home. Also, it has good rank in different rankings and it is ragging free campus so I chose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is according to GATE AND ESE syllabus and much similar to IITs syllabus in Engineering. The curriculum is more than sufficient to crack the competitive exams organized for engineers. SYLLABUS IN 1st and 2nd semester is a little bit longer which covers an introduction to all branches of engineering and also difficult semesters compared to coming semesters. But from 2018 batch, the syllabus has been reduced for 1st-year students which are good news for coming batches.

Internships Opportunities

In Computer science, about 30% students get internships and many of them get PPO(Pre placement offer) also but in branches like IT, Mechanical, ECE, EEE only 10% get an internship and other branches except above mentioned do not get internships. If anyone gets an internship, generally he gets a stipend of 20k-30k per month. Experience is always good for those who get the internships as there is much chance of getting PPO after completing the internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

Branches like CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, MECHANICAL have good placements and job opportunities on campus if you work on your skills.CSE and IT people get the job very easily but ECE, EEE, Mechanical has to do some labor for getting the job but they get. But other branches like chemical, CIVIL, Production does not have sufficient opportunities. They have some chances to grab but all students can not get the placements.they have to really do hard work for that. Max package-40lakh average package-7lakh

College Events

4

Mainly three events are celebrated in our college. They are- 1. BITOTSAV-It is cultural fest and organized in February. Students from many colleges participate in this and Last night any BOLLYWOOD SINGER perform. 2. PANTHEON-It is technical fest and many scientists come and give lectures on different topics and different technical events are organized. 3. VAJRA-It is sports fest and many college students participate in it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is expensive. Normal people can not bear it. Generally, students read here by taking loans from banks. The tuition fee is around 90k per semester plus hostel fee and mess fee. It is around 13 lakhs for 4 years including mess fee and hostel fee. Daily expenditure is not included in this.

Fees and Financial Aid

During admission, many banks offer the loans. Banks have the tent during admission time, if you need the loan you will easily get that at good rates. College does not provide any loan. College provides a scholarship to economically weak students but meritorious students.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is OK. It is ragging free campus. Seniors are like friends. The college has a big campus. the gender ratio is around 40%. Students from all across India read here also some are from foreign. Here there and three teams who design and manufacture a car( Formula team, BAJA TEAM, E- BAJA TEAM) and also coding clubs which do competitive coding. There is a robotics club(ROBOLUTION) which build the robots. There are many clubs which organizes debates and there is a sports complex where there is a facility of the multi-gym.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel Facilities- It is good. In 1st year you will live with a partner but from the 2nd year, you will have a single room. In each room, there is a LAN port and you have free 3GB data to use per day. Generally, you will not face problems with electricity, water, bathrooms etc. MESS FOOD- Mess food is not tasty. You will not get unhealthy food but after some days you will feel that food is not tasty. There is mess secretary(a student) of each hostel that decides the menu so the menu can be changed according to students will.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, There is a network of alumni and senior students called BITOSA WHICH is spread all across the globe. They are much helpful to BIT students and they are helping economically and also technically to BIT students.

Exam Structure

Exam consists of 1.Internal marks(15 marks) 2.Mid sem(25 marks) 3. End sem(60 marks) 1. For 15 marks, you have to submit the assignment or give a quiz for that. Accordingly, you will get the marks. 2. For midsem, you have to prepare for 3 chapters and based on that there will be the exam and you will get the marks. 3. In End sem, you have 7 questions but you have to attempt any 5 questions and accordingly, you will get the marks out of 60 marks.

Admission

1. Giving JEE MAIN EXAM. 2.ACCORDING TO RANK IN JEE MAIN fill the choices of college with a branch which you want in JOSAA Counselling. 3. The result will be out after some day and from there you will get your college and branch. 4. Come to college and fix your seat and take admission in given time.

Faculty

3.5

In all branches, some teachers are good, some are average and some are poor. In computer science, IT, mechanical, EEE etc. A number of good teachers are slightly more than others. They have much knowledge about their subjects and have also published many research papers in recognized publications. Some are average, If you will fully concentrate on classroom then only you can understand the ongoing things. But are not good, just they with ppt and read that and what they tell we do not understand.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
