Course Curriculum Overview

NMC did many changes in the latest curriculum, inculcating practical values and life experiences needed to know as a clinician more and that too from the start . Biometric attendance ensures fair attendance to all and the need to attend lectures . Exams never end . Medico means to have exams every now and then .

Internships Opportunities

Every student has to undergo compulsory intership of 1 year as per state government rules . Hence every student who passed mbbs final year exams has to complete one year intership to avail their mbbs degree . The intership is paid ( 18000 rupees monthly ) but the work load is overwhelming.

Fees and Financial Aid

Minimal expenses, a minimum of 25000 rupees admission fee taken in first year then 10000 rupees every yr which is substantially minimum compared to private Colleges where mbbs fee can be as high as 1 crore

Campus Life

Many opportunities to improve your social life. Mbbs is not only about studying, students are given opportunity to enjoy time to time . These include Pulse fest in AIIMS Delhi , euphoria in GMC Chandigarh and many more intracollege events held time to time .

Admission

Admission process is simple . Candidate needs to clear neet UG, conducted by NTA . Then they are choosen by the state government as per jkbopee based on certain rules and regulations. After allotment, the management simplifies the procedure for students.

AIIMS JAMMU TOTAL REVEIW

Placement Experience:

You can get a job here after completing MBBS or md. Can go to any hospital or open your own. 1.5L per month is avg for a doctor. Starting around 90k a month. Internship gives 28500 per month. No batch has currently passed out from this college . Comparatively new college. 2020 batch(oldest batch) still doing internship.

All u need to know about ASCOMS Jammu

Course Curriculum Overview:

I Chose MBBS by my choice The more the practical and clinicals u perform the better u understand things rather than books . Real life experience is important I think what should be improved is that focus should be more on things that are more important for being a doctor. More towards clinical aspects more towards practical performance and less on things needed to cram Timing for exam of 80 mark is 3 hrs and is quite good enough time. 20 marks are of mcqs so total 100 mark.

GMC-Jammu in a Glance

To be very honest I didn't apply for any other colleges apart from GMC Jammu. Because in my state it's the best college for pursuing mbbs. Since it started operating in 1973, it has a history of high experience and high patient inflow as compared to other colleges like GMC Kathua, GMC Rajouri, etc. The teachers here are highly experienced as compared to any other college in the region. The exam required to be cleared before getting admission into mbbs course is NEET-UG. The cut-offs stay pretty high for General category students. This year in 2024 admissions, cut off for open merit was 667 for boys and 634 for girls in GMC Jammu. Overall admission process is not that difficult. One has to fulfill some requests which are enlisted by the college's student section every year, he's of them being a Transfer certificate from school, 12th mark sheet, Identify proofs, migration certificate, character certificate, health certificate, etc....Read More

My college made my MBBS journey easy and interesting

Eligibility for the admission in mbbs is to clear the NEET entrance exam for which you should have physica chemistry and biology in secondary school. There is a huge reservation benefit in this course. But in my opinion the reservation should be removed or reduced to benefit the student who deserve this course....Read More
