Course Curriculum Overview

4

curriculum is vast and also really relavant as the boards or departments are really making efforts to change the curriculum every year and for every batch and mostly all the subjects i come through are relavant to real world application as in any course i do ,i see application of what i learnt in college until now. Areas of improvement would be the online courses they offer as many student give a blind eye to it and go write them unprepared and also the frequency of tests is at the right amount as i didnt face any disappointment about the time aspects of the tests as you will get 1.1 months gap for each test (CAT1 CAT2 FAT) approx and the internals are in the favor of the lecturers and the difficulty level also is constant and might slightly vary due to the paper setters and also the course but usually i would rate it about 4 out of 5 .

Internships Opportunities

3.5

we get emails to our official vit email id about the interships and its up to us to apply to those internships and we have to apply through forms and we get selected through different mean such as hackathons online tests coding contests and interviews companies such as TCS WIPRO GOLDMANNSACHS and many other internships are provided and also a lot of startup companies also appear for internships .projects are really high end and you can make how many you want and youll get extra credits for them if approved

Placement Experience

4

placements in my college are not bad if i had to express my opinion as regression period going or as it is apparent in placement stats of different colleges in 2023 we had 904 companies visit our campus and a total of 14345 offers were made in which 4461 are above 10lpa and 624 were about above 20lpa highest CTC was 1.02 cr and average CTC was 9.23lpa and 2024 we had 7272 offers 532 above 20lpa 3158 above 10lpa and highest ctc is 88lpa average ctc is 10lpa considering the amount of offers and tcs gives the most offers every years in our college students who completed 6th sem are eligible for placements the companies which visit out campus are of a lot variety like amazon ,tcs ,goldmansacchs ,zomato ,wipro etc. my plans after getting degree are to work for 2 yrs and then doing masters .

Fees and Financial Aid

the tution fee is really high and the hostel fees are too there are many categories according to the rank you got in VITEEE and i thin the number of categories have increased the following years also complete cost of mine is 24L for all costs including hostel and tutuion and scolarships ar e non existent and forget about campus employment except the oncampus internships or atleast i dont know aboout any of them and winning prices of hackathons and events is all you get

Campus Life

3

Gravitas,Riviera are two main fests in our college and one is cultural and other is cultural and there are other fests too which are tech related called minifests for which the timings vary but gravitas happens in the first sem of your year and the other one in the second year both are paid rivieral has a min even followed by different small events and gravitas has many hackathons coding contests and also fun stuff like laser tag and escape room the library is a large complex with 3 floors and vast majority of books but popular ones will be over if you want to take them with you during the first 14 days before cat 2 for open book test, but there are reference(you cant take those) books so dont worry when you visit the library you will find them and you can read them there. Class rooms dont have AC's except the labs they have probut jectors tho.Sports are really crowded mostly basketball but if you want an open feild to play cricket or football you can go stadium 3 paid 1 unp Gym good o

Hostel Facilities

4

hostels are mostly good only the only problem is bathrooms and AC dont get me wrong the cleaning of bathroom is regularly done but the students don maintain them properly as they leave them unflushed mainly because the flush doesn work and a lot of ac rooms are available but if you dont have a good rank to get AC room or a friend with good hostel councelling rank whos going to take you as his roommate you have to spend the semester without AC. rooms are 1 2 3 4 6 8 bedded usually 3 bed is recommended in 6 bed you will get bunker beds but the room is really spacious would recommend it if you have a lot of friends but not in first year STQRKLMNG are some of the best hostel blocks and are really good mainly the new one like RQST but the pricing is also set according to the level of newness of block prices range form 1.5l to 3l based on your bed and the block you choose especially deluxe blocks like S T Q R is apartment type which is really good but eaually costly mess is repetitive notbad

Admission

i have written VITEE exam to get admission i dont know about any reservation benefits and think there arent any ihave secured 15k rank (the ranking system seems kinda rigged tho) and secured 3rd category the forst two categories have a tution fee of 2l and 3l but it hikes a lot for 3rd category to 4.5l per annum ofcourse.you can find the application form in the vit uni offl website during admission season usually it will open after the completion of JEE MAINS exam whenever it will be held difficulty is easy if compared to jee level but the exam seemed kind of fishy as the ranks were unexpected for many of the people maybe some transparency would do good rest all of the aspects are not bad (talking about the admission process)

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ratio is like 1:9 and i have no complains about the learning experience as the faculties put in a lot of effort to educate you and wouldnt say no if you wanted to meet them in their free time or when they are available in their cabin. There is a wide range anf types of lecturers in vit like some are lenient some are strict some are highly qualified than other and have so really good teaching skills but are really strict some give marks easily (the class average will be high) and so on.The lecturers at vit are highly qualified like they have done masters at NITs and IITs or abroad or are experts in different feilds, teachnig in class would be different for different lecturers but mostly the steriotype of just reading the slides can be extended to making the slides understandable fore some lecturers but some old lecturers like using the white board and explaining those type of lecturers are usually strict but i would say all types of lecturers are available.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
