Likes

University Environment full of nature, people are kind and helpful, no raggings, no chaos , offers valuable course and syllabus
There is a bank within the campus with 3 ATMs including punjab national bank
I like the university week, especially Virthli and cultural program

Dislikes

Mizoram is too expensive to live, people doesn't bargain here
The roads are not good , so many potholes
Foods aren't good. Water scarcity in the hostel is the major problem

Course Curriculum Overview

The university offers a great quality education to the students. However, there can be improvement in some areas like hands on training with sofisticating machines and tools, in making use of laboratory tools, informatics, etc.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 14000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is not much of a problem since it's a central university. However, there are some education loans available for the economically weaker people offered by the punjab national bank itself located inside the campus. The fee structure per semester only cost around 8 thousand, with everything included (from admission till clinical fee)

Campus Life

University have their own students councils which the university give them the authorities to organizes varous programs like uni sports, and varsity week. Virthli or varsity is held in the month of april and department sports is held in the month of october. There is also a central library of the uni with oldest to latest books. Uni also offers the students with great connectivity of wifi.

Hostel Facilities

There are around 20 hostel altogether including boys and girls hostel. The expenses of hostel is quite low . But the mess is one major problem. However there is also a uni PG with much better facility and mess.

Hostel Fee: INR 3700 per year

Admission

Since it's central university, the competition for getting into uni is more. The application for admission is given in the website itself. There are reservations for SC ST OBC . One can get admitted into college by 2 process, either with cuet marks or writing the exam held by uni. If they can conduct an exams for admissions in different places, it would be of great convenience to the aspirants.

Faculty

The faculties from my department are all from the good background. They're all descendants of good reputative university. The facilities and equipments for the students are well enough and sufficiently provided by govt. Overall, It can be regarded as one of the good university in the NE region and its has a good rating by NAAC.

Life in mizoram University

Placement Experience:

For my course there is no placement. But for other courses they are providing placements. After my masters I'm planning to pursue mphil clinical psychology after that I will start working as a clinical psychologist in hospitals. But after my masters I can also work as a counseling psychologist. And if I crack Net I can also work as a teacher in colleges

My experience in Mizoram University

Course Curriculum Overview:

I found no difficulties in my subjects, as i am into it and gaves my all into the course. The exam time is 10 am to 1 pm. and in that timing also no difficulties could be found as we answer only four 20 marks question in each papers

My university, my start of career

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is quite good for the students and make us wanna learn new things but how ever the execution of curriculums were quite not good as to how it was described and further more, the facility needs to have better equipment to better understand the theories which require certain instruments. Also if we could have a model of what we are learning to better understand it and if they have time to tell us how we could apply it in real life so as to gain new ideas. the difficulty level of the curriculum is hard and there are things which we can not quite fully understand but if given more time we could understand these things.

Mizoram University- A detailed review from a student.

Placement Experience:

For geology there is no campus placement available for the moment but ONGC might be recruiting from the next 3 years or so. Otherwise engineering, tourism and management placements are available with 8LPA as average package. For geology, there is an ample opportunity for PhD with leading institutions as you'll have the exposure here plus you can pursue PhD here also. I am thinking of pursuing PhD here itself after finishing NET

Life in mizoram University

I got admission through the competitive exam CUET PG. Also mizoram University have separate entrance exam. Through mizoram University entrance exam they will take 30 students and through CUET PG they only take 10 students. And I choose mizoram University because this was the only central university which was providing MSc Clinical psychology and I want to complete my masters in a central university. And because of that mizoram University was my first priority. And for me other central universities was a back up plan. Now in central university of Andhra Pradesh they are providing MSc Clinical psychology. They started it this year and the course is very expensive. For admission process in mizoram University the cutoff can't be predicted because it depends on the first rank student in the cuet pg entrance.
