Likes

First point. Clinical exposure. You can find the best clinical exposure at VIMS. We can see a variety of clinical cases, which gives an upper hand in better understanding of various medical conditions.
There is a great balance of academics and extra curricular activities. We celebrate various events together. Also there are college fests conducted, but not so often.
The faculty is great. The professors are always open to doubts and queries. They give their everything to make us the the best doctors of the coming years.

Dislikes

The response from the administrative department regarding scholarships and stuff is not that great. You need to be behind them to get your works done.
Although the college is huge and spread over a large area, the maintenance is something that is disliked by everyone.
Regarding entry into the college, so many people get to enter into our college without any ID card.

Course Curriculum Overview

I've always wanted to become a neurosurgeon. And this course is gonna aid me in all my pursuits. This course is going to give me a degree and also makes me eligible to pursue my PG in my field of interest. The only area of improvement I would suggest would be the mode of conducting exams. Exams are conducted thrice a year. (Internals). The difficulty level matches that of our final papers.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 65000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee was very disappointing for our batch. There was a huge rise from 18 thousand to 65 thousand. The rise wasn't even justified as we do not see any extra benefits. The complete cost of our education would be around 1 lac per year. The scholarships available are NSP and SSP.

Campus Life

I have had a great campus life, especially considering that we've got to enjoy in every single college event . Annual fests like college day was conducted. Also, Karnataka rajyotsava and Ganesh chaturthi are celebrated with great ecstasy. The infrastructure is great. But cleanliness should be worked on.

Admission

The admission process was hectic and time consuming. There was no proper organisation. Families were lined up waiting for their turn. The staff wasn't friendly either. But overall, the experience wasn't that bad. The application form and related information can be taken from the vims website.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite good. Although students are many in comparison to the professors, but the professors are great in what they do and make sure they're available to every student. Their approach to teaching is very systematic and are very good mentors. They not only impart their knowledge to us, but also mould us into developing all the qualities that a good doctor needs to have. We don't get to interact with every teacher daily. But at one point of time, there's one teacher available for a couple of students all the time.

It was good professors and friendly teaching staff
Campus life is good, it provide new opportunities and has events and various clubs
Everyone here are good and friendly and is a lovely place to study

Dislikes

Hospital is far from college, which is again not an issue as they send bus service
It can give and provide more opportunities
Hostel facilities can be improved and they can build few more lecture halls

I chose this course because I wanted to help the needy. Also this college provides best education for mbbs to come out with beautiful colours, they provide so many opportunities. There will be three internal assessments and one final university exam

Life as a medical student

Likes

Vydehi has the best museum with accurate specimens. VASA is main attraction of Vydehi offering simulations for basic life support, trauma management, Advanced life support, laparoscopic surgeries, delivery and many more.
Central library of vydehi has great book collection for undergrads , PGs , competitive exams etc. It is well organised and we'll maintained
Security: My favourite of all is the security system of vydehi that make girls feel safe. No strangers are allowed without being checked and hostlers are not allowed to go out without permission

Dislikes

Hostel fee: Hostel fee in vydehi is a little expensive considering the facilities provided.
Students are not allowed to leave the college premises during lecture hours which can be troublesome when they have to leave due to emergency or when classes are not helpful
Uniform: Newly introduced inform in vydehi decreases respect for interns. Patients treat intern medical officers as nurses due to uniform.o

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is based on practical scenarios and very relevant since doctors need to understand real life scenarios inorder to treat patients. Curriculum includes OSCE and certified skills that prepare students to become good doctors. More individual attention and skill development can help students understand topics and mould into good clinicians.

The college has been consistently ranked under top10 medical college for many decades.
The faculties and infrastructure is really top notch.
The hospital is very good in handling all the patients properly and systematically.

Dislikes

The course fee is too high for a middle class student.
The class is filled with rich students so if you have less money you can feel inferior.
The rankings which the college claims sometimes sound gimmicky.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MBBS comprises 19 Subjects which is vast. Knowing so many things make you not only knowledgeable but also you have very important role in society. This course is filled with practical knowledge which are compulsory to get. This gives you skills which only a few people can have. So you already stand in society. The newer changes that has been made by NMC has reduced the time for studies. It was less exhausting before. Exams are properly placed and arranged . They are well divided into theories, practicals, internal examinations, certification for skills, etc. Last year has more papers now.

Great coure , great college , better life

Likes

Library is well furnished with lots and lots of book.there is well furnished chairs and table like compartments where students can completely isolate himself and study. There are thousands of books in library
Study room is provided at the top floor of the institute. It is really clean and there are separate room like compartments where students can study well. They can even discuss in group if they want
We have a cafe inside our institute. Here we can have tea and coffee to relieve ourselves

Course Curriculum Overview:

Doctor is a noble profession , the mere respect which we get by being doctor is one of the prime motive for me to pursuade this course Aside from physiology , anatomy and biochemistry we have a e t c o m which is a type of curriculum which is thought to us in which we learn to deal with different situations during our career and they also help us in terms of improving our communication which is very crucial In real life application . Personally for me the curriculum started on September and we had our first internals in January 2nd around March third round me and we had a final exams in August Honestly speaking MBBS is not an easy course , it is really hard, you need to understand the core, and then applied to even in theory and practical exams. concept

The whole bunch of colleges lies in grennery .
Hostel os very close to college , and very clean.
Insfracture is very good , very good envirnoment

It is situated in remote area, place in boring
Even in hostle mess is very bad , even though it is clean
In hospital patient load is low , since we are doctor's we need exp with huge no. Patient interaction

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I am in is mbbs, once I get out of college with graduation, there is a job awaiting me. Now the NMC medical brings the next exam for 3 years. All are saying it will be the toughest exam of medical since the pervious one.

I liked teaching of the cloth .It is good and also very strict.The patient input is little less when compared to other colleges
The hostel rooms are good ,spacious ,good environment
The campus is situated next to lake which makes campus more beautiful

Dislikes

Hostel food is worst chicken is also provided but taste is not good
Watchman of Subbaih behave rudely with students
There is no water filter fitted in classroom or corridor

MBBS is actually toughest course in India.It requires dedication determination.One should prepare hard to pass in examination.the exam month will be tougher there will be no sleep no food etc getting pass marks is like getting distinction

Amazing college. Well reputed and ranks the fourth best medical college in India. Faculty is priceless and very experienced. Hospital patients jntake is quite good. Many patients come from far off places for treatment. A complete new world. Safety is too good. You'll love having a life in manipal.
