Course Curriculum Overview
As first year student, the things tagught are like common to every branch. It included the things that we studied in 11th and 12th but a little bit advanced, more like the things taught in competitive exams like JEE. Further , we have been taught subjects like critical thinking , creative thinking , communication skills. These subjects helped us identify problems, analyze it and think for possible solutions as well as improved our communication skills. The exam frequency is more because there are internal components for which exam needs to be conducted, apart from that class tests are also conducted.
Internships Opportunities
Mostly internships are bagged by students by applying in companies. Sometimes teachhers help them to get internships. As I heard, 7th sem students are offered internships by the companies visiting for placements.
Placement Experience
As far as I know, placements are good. This year the highest placements were recorded in branches like CSE,AIML. Placements start from 7th sem , there is a placement cell in college which manages to bring companies in college. The highest placement this year was around 40 lakhs , and the average stood at around 8 lakhs. According the college's statistics , the placement percentage is 100%. I will most probably take the college placement
Fees and Financial Aid
The policies are available on their website. They don't hike rhe tution fee , it's been the same since some years. But they do have the authority to increase the fee. The fees btech (any branch) is 3lakhs/year. There are a number of scholarships available. There is one scholarship called northeast region scholarship and I'm benefitting from it. This scholarship is for northeast students and it includes complete fee waiver.
Campus Life
There are numerous clubs in the college. The college fest is held in the month of february but this year it was cancelled for some unknown reasons. Aparts , there is technical fest called symbi techfest, sports fest called protarhilitis. Some of the clubs are run by students and some are run by teachers. There are three court, onefor basketball, one for volleyball and one for lawn tennis. Aparts, there is a football turf and a mud ground as well in the campus.
Admission
Admission can be taken using Jee marks or any state Engineering exam or SITEEE. I got admission on the basis of marks scored in SITEEE. A student must have atleast 45% in 12th to get admission in SIT. The admssionprocess was average because after taking admission there is a process called eligibility document verification in which we e have to submit hard copiesof all the documents submitted on their portal.
Faculty
Faculty's are mostly associate professors holding PhD. There are smart boards in each classroom and the faculty teaches on these boards with their ppts. Somtimes they make us write notes. Faculty cabins always remain open during college hours and anyone can go discuss something with them.
