Remarks

A bad remark is that It has less gender ratio like other IITs. The campus is very beautiful. I love being here. It helped me in exploring various fields under superb guidance of alumni, seniors, and professors.

Entrance Preview

It is one of the top colleges and is an old IIT which ensures a good environment and has a good reputation. It has great reviews and is one of most rated colleges of India and has a great reputation outside India as well. It's placement records are also good and all these reasons led me to this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is highly intellectual and developed. It shows a long research on developing the curriculum which is best for a student. The curriculum also has co-curricular activities like sports, NCC, social service. It also has a humanities course which you can choose as per your choice.

Internships Opportunities

No, It's not compulsory. You can do an internship with a professor by directly asking them. The stipend is generally not given for such internships but there are incentives varying and depends on professor and project's funding.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is overall good. Computer Science and Mathematics department guys get high package over 1 to 2 crores for some students. Rest also get the good package but these also depend on CPI. If your CPI is above 8, you have very good job opportunities and get good packages.

College Events

4.5

All festival as are celebrated. Every national or community festival it can be but holidays are not given for all these generally. We have one of India's biggest technical festival TECHNIQUE and also One of India's biggest cultural festival ALCHERINGA. UDGAM is entrepreneurship fest. Research Conclave and various other fests are there.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tution Fees is 1 lakh per semester but if your parents income is less than 1 lakh your tution fees is 0 and if your parents income is less than 5lakh your tution fee is 33.33% of total tution fee. Mess and other fee add upto 20000 per semester. This is for B.Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are banks inside the campus for loan facilities and yes there is the scholarship for various students on the basis of caste and parent's income. Also, there is the scholarship for department topper.

Campus Life

4.5

There are dance, music photography, filmmaking, sports, robotics, entrepreneurship, electronics, racing, and many other clubs. These clubs are given funds and there are opportunities for every talent. The gender ratio in B.Tech is very bad at my time it was .08 girl per boy. In M.Techand Ph.D. is a little better.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are better than other colleges. You get your own room with a bed, table chair, ceiling fan, LAN port and WiFi in common area. Mess food is hygienic but when it comes to taste It is generally not good. Breakfast is good but lunch and dinner fail in the taste. Canteen gives you another option in the hostel for food. In every hostel, there is a stationary, juice center, Canteen, TV Room, LIBRARY sports room with Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, pool table.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is also good. They help in placements and other matters. They are really helpful many times and are in contact via various sources.

Exam Structure

General Exam structure is Quiz1, Midsem, Quiz2, Endsem. Quizzes are generally 10% each of total marks. Midsem is generally 30% and Endsem is generally 50% of total marks. It slightly varies for different courses and it may vary each year. Some professors also give gives marks for weekly tutorials and attendance.

Admission

Firstly I cleared JEE MAIN and then JEE ADVANCED. Then I have to go through multiple rounds of counseling. In the 1st round, I have to go for document check as well which includes 10th and 12th mark sheet, birth certificate, medical certificate, aadhar card, original admit card and counseling fee receipt which I have deposited earlier.

Faculty

4.5

Faculties are highly qualified for their job. They are a bit boring but it is a problem for every engineering professor. Faculties are deciding factor whether attendance in their course is important or not. They give assignments whole semester and then quizzes every month. They generally give marks for attendance and tutorial also.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa.
