What Students Say
Likes
- The Campus, the infrastructure of Thakur College of Engineering and Technology is one of the best infrastructure in any of the engineering colleges in Mumbai.
- The canteen is relatively okay, there is no problem of food poisoning, and anything as such
- Some Faculty members are really good and helpful, makes us understand different and difficult things, make our way easy
Dislikes
- As I mentioned before dinner faculty members, so yes, other faculty members are not as supportive as others, and they are placed at higher positions, which created problems and it finds us hard for us to cope up with that.
- The way the college write is not appropriated at all, it is almost similar to a school! Everyday come to college, have lectures, complete your books, etc etc.
- Attendance is mandatory, also other thing is practicals are compulsory, valid point and it is good to keep it mandatory, but some students just copy the practicals and projects, which is not good, for students future.
Course Curriculum Overview
Yes, I personally find the course curriculum easy, not very hard to learn, therefore which means we have a pretty good course curriculum. Also the depth is good, not good as compared to the Mumbai University, but according to a autonomous college it is good.
Internships Opportunities
No, there is no as such intership with stipend which college gives. College provides social internship which does not provide any stipend! NGO comes to us and provides colleges the social internship possible.
Placement Experience
Placement are not upto the mark, they can be way better, as per the curriculum and all the other things we consider! TCET really needs to improve a lot in placements, although there is a very good T&P Cell working hard to get better each and everytime, but yes need to improve as fast as possible.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees is 165000, in which they take 5000 as donation of the college. And they have made it compulsory. EBS and TFWS are two schemes which I know. No till date I don't know any such cannot employment things.
Campus Life
Sojurn is the main official event of TCET happens every year, it happens nearly around the month of March or April, and many other fests happens of each clubs, clubs find together, collaborate and makes event successful.
Hostel Facilities
Hotel facilities are way to costly, but the one in which I live is not of college's, it is a jain hostel in Mira Rd. So, according to this I don't know any things specific about the hostel, but there are basically 2 types in hostel, AC and Non AC. For me both of them are costly
Admission
Admission process is a bit of tedious work, but as other teachers are present, it makes our students with easy. Here one can get the reservation according to Hindu minority. Frequency of exams is around 1 exam in 1 & 1/2 months, which means 1 exam in 90 days.
Faculty
Yeah, there is a lot of scope to improve in faculty section as the college struggles with getting good faculty members, some of the faculty members are really good and are well qualified, but as to fill all the places in the faculty staff, some other teachers, are average even though they might seem qualified on paper but in real they are not upto the qualifications as per papers
