Course Curriculum Overview
The derivatives market, future, and options, Advanced Financial Statement Analysis and security analysis, and portfolio management are the subjects that made me choose the course and specialization of finance. The curriculum does help you to be prepared in real-life scenarios, for interviews in banking and investment companies or finance-related companies, and is very important to understand from basics. Teaching should be done with a slow pace sometimes the faculties take a sudden pace which makes it difficult to understand. The level of difficulty of exams is decent and prepares you for real-life situations. The exam frequency and timing are also good, students have a lot of time to prepare for one exam to another.
Internships Opportunities
I didn't apply for internships from the campus so I've very little idea about it but, there were decent amount of companies who visited to recruit interns but didn't offer any stipend. I had done my internship through an off campus company where I was an Accounts Assistant intern of the organisation and was given the role to look after the bank statements of the clients on Tally ERP9 and MS Excel.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements after first semester only. There are numerous companies which visited the college for campus placements like, Deloitte, Zomato, Hindustan Unilever, etc. and offered 7LPA on an average. The highest package offered is 15 LPA. Around 50-60% students got placed although the placement eligibility has been a difficult for students to keep up with. My plans after getting the degree is to look up for a good job anywhere in India.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the current year, students have faced a fee hike of approximately 50000-60000 rupees. The fee for my course was 780000 for 2 years along with 2 specializations. The examination fees are to be paid additionally. There are scholarships to sportspersons and rank holders in competitive examinations that a student receives at the end of the semester. The scholarship depends upon the level you've represented, the rank you've achieved in the examination, etc.
Campus Life
There are a huge number of events and programs going on campus you will never get bored when you're present in the college. The Facilities and technologies provided are very necessary for the students they make it easier for them to complete any tasks. Sports are given a good amount of recognition on the campus. There are various tournaments and championships organized and participated by sports teams. I, myself was the captain of the cricket team and we were given good exposure to participation in tournaments. There are various clubs and social groups in the college which improves the life of a student.
Admission
The admission process was very easy. I applied for the college, then they asked me to take a provisional admission, then there was an interview round and if you clear it you're selected for admission. I took the University's entrance exam because I missed the MAH-CET entrance exam and it did help me to qualify for admission. Admission form can be found on the website and physically at the admission desk as well. Application fees are to be paid through their portal. More detailed information should be provided about the course, faculties, benefits, etc. which will provide clarity before admission.
Faculty
Faculties are very understanding and are always ready to solve any sort of problems related to academics. There are certain faculties with whom you can also share your personal problems and they will come up with a solution. The learning experience is decent overall sometimes topics are taught in absolute detail and sometimes topics are neglected which indirectly affects the performance of a student. Faculties are usually busy with their teaching schedule so it's difficult to approach them whenever you want.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was an interview round which I had gone through for the admission. Interview was very much general question based and it was quite easy to clear. The criteria to get admitted is to score 50%+ in all the exams like 10th, 12th, and graduation.
