Remarks
So final verdict about the college would be that it is a great college in terms of its co-curricular activities and the faculty support. The management of the college can be strict at times but eventually, it's for the benefit of the college. The students and deans of the college I really supportive. The infrastructure, however, can be improved by providing a better campus area.
Entrance Preview
I opted for this college because of my extreme interest in co-circular activities and so does this college provides abundant opportunities in every field of extra circular. I did not focus on the course to opt and hence took up bcom. There are other courses as well as Economics Fashion Designing Etc, but I had no particular interest in them.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of BCom is same as any other BCom courses in other colleges. We have 6 seems to be completed and a final year project. The syllabus is pretty simple and relates to the 11th and 12th studies. I personally found the course really simple and easy to secure good marks.
Internships Opportunities
The college doesn't provide any internships as such. Instead, they provide courses that may give us an internship preview with organizations like Hegde etc. But we need to pay for such courses and then avail a certificate in return.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are average. A minimum package of 2 to 3 lakhs is only provided. companies like Wipro, Sutherland, Etc may come up and recruit students. They have a written test and interview process. All the placements for a BCom BA level graduate are below average in this college.
College Events
The college is famous for the co-curricular activities and the Teresian week which is celebrated every November with abundant activities like dance music painting acting etc. It gives wide exposure to every student of the college to showcase their talents. Also, a lot of fests and Inter College competitions also happen that invites students from other colleges to come up and compete with Teresians and also activities like fashion show etc
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of the college is pretty feasible if there is no donation involved. Particularly my BCom fees are 40,000 for one year which is pretty affordable. Fees for other courses like fashion designing, computer science, Bachelors of management Studies etc have increased fees compared to other courses.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college would announce a lot of scholarship that is available to the girls of our college be it a single child or the low-income groups.
Campus Life
Campus life in the college is an ordinary life if you are involved in the co-curricular activities and various clubs of the college it's an added point. A lot of extra curricular activities like sports debates happen every day and gives you a wide exposure.
Hostel Facilities
I am a day scholar hence I have no much idea about the hostel facilities and its food but my friends would say that the food includes only South Indian meals and the facilities of the hostel and the regulations are pretty strict. Talking about the infrastructure of the hostel facilities and they are decent and good for survival but can be better.
Alumni/Alumna
Talking about the alumni of the college they are still in touch with the college and with the Union members. They would come to college judging any event or as an alumni themselves. Being in the college and being outside they are really supported towards the college and their students and encourage every activity.
Exam Structure
Exam structure of the college is pretty decent. It is conducted semester wise once in every 6 months and internal exam once every 2 months. Every internal exam is conducted department wise which prepares their own paper and evaluates them. they have decent invigilation and correction methods.
Admission
I filled up the application form that came out in may. And then went for the admissions in June. I had to wait 2-3 days for my name to be called from the list and then eventually I was called the 3rd day. The admission process was simple. We just had to show our certificates and mark sheets and meet the director eventually, (who may ask for donations) But in my case, I got the seat on a merit basis, hence no donation.
Faculty
The faculty of my department, in particular, is really supportive and cool. They understand us really well and helps us in our every venture. The amount of homework and assignments are sometimes a bit nagging and given eventually it's for our benefit.
