Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Production Engineering deals mostly with with manufacturing processes, industrial management and considerable emphasis on mechanical engineering. Also, curriculum incorporates subjects of mechanical engineering like Heat Transfer, thermal engineering, fluid mechanics at same intensity as of mechanical department. Curriculum is designed good enough to gain skills in Production Engineering But in my opinion always go for Mechanical Engineering even if you are gattting private colleges like Dy Patil, MMCOE, PVG college of Engineering. Despite having combination of mechanical engineering and industrial management Production Engineer are not having that much flexibility.

Placement Experience

2.5

For Production Engineering department placement are not good. Even internship support is poor from the faculty. Also if you interested in CAD/CAM/CAE or design engineering role then production Engineering is not for you.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

As its a Government Institute, fees is lower than private colleges. All Government Schemes are available. Generally there is no fee hike. For M.Tech students non-Gate students gate assistantship of 5000Rs in their final year if they do their project in College

Campus Life

3.5

Overall Experience was good, the cultural fests are amazing. Infrastructure is good, classes are equipped with a digital board, projector etc. Instrumentation Engineering Department, have sponsored labs by Emerson. The production Engineering department has poor labs. Numerous clubs are present.

Admission

Entrance Exam for B.Tech is JEE or MHT-CET. The cut-off is generally lower than some good government colleges like Aurangabad, Karad, WCE sangli. For CSE and IT percentile should be around 96, but for mechanical 70 to 80 is enough, and for production many got admission with percentile below 50.

Faculty

3.5

I don't have idea about other departments but Production Engineering Department Faculty was on mostly contract basis. Recently we have some Permanent Professor. And contract basis faculty is not good enough, they certainly lacks in experience. Some of the professor are definitely have high qualification and have good approachability.

Remarks:

he placements were pretty well. There were many students who were placed in MNCs. Most of the companies were IT based companies. Amongst all, only 1 core electronics company came to our college for recruitments. The highest package was around 4 LAP. Our college also provides opportunities for other off-campus drives which took place nearer to Solapur. The companies that came to the campus were mainly MNCs providing an average package of 2.5 LPA which is pretty well for a fresher graduated from a non-government college
