Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am very satisfied with my decision to take this course as i have interest in it as well as the curriculum of this course in my college is also very good. In curriculum, along with theory classes, laboratories are also included so that we can apply our knowledge in real life. I don't think any improvement in the curriculum, but of if i suggest for improvement they should increase the semester period so that there is no rush of completing the syllabus. In a semester, two exams are conducted mid term and end terms. And the exam timing is enough according to their syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

When there is summer vacation starts companies visits for internship opportunities. Not only 3rd students can be intern, students from 1st year amd 2nd year could also work as intern. Companies for internship opportunities are Okinava institute from Japan, the world bank from USA, Yale CS summer internship programs, Lunar and planetry institute from USA.

Placement Experience

4

After 6th semester companies visits to college for summer internships for students. They take rounds of exams and interview for internship as they will pay them. And if company is happy with your work as intern then they give you PPO which is pre placement offer. Many named companies visits in MNIT every year like Adobe,Amazon, Apple, Bajaj, Airtel,Goldmann Sachs,Samsung,JP morgan etc. Number of students placed varies with branch. But overall 80-85% students gets placed in UG. I will try to join IT industry after getting the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

As in every college there is some increase in tution fees, MNIT also increase some amount of fees but personally it is very bad policy of each college. 5-6 lakhs for college + approx. 2 lakhs for hostel and mess food and other expenses will totally depends on you. As MNIT is a government institute so there many scolarships provided by goverment for financially weak students. There is full relief in tution fees for students whose family income is below 1 lakh and 2/3 fees refund to students whose family income is between 2 lakh to 5 lakh.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life of MNIT Jaipur is awesome. College organize two fests in a year one is technical and other one is cultural. The technical fest named as "Sphinx" is held in November and cultural fest named as "Blitzchlag" is held in February. Both fest consists many competitions for students and in each night during fest a great concert is organized for entertainment. Library of MNIT is one of biggest libraries among all NITs. So, almost all the books amd journals would be available here that you want. And these are easily accessible through offline and onoine also. Every class consists of projectors for better understanding of students and fully air conditioned. Benches are arranges in stairswise manner so that each can see the screen. There is sports complex for sports facilities. There is proper court for some sports like volleyball, badminton, basketball, lawn tennis etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are some new hostels and some old hostels in the campus.Rooms of new are quite good as compare to old hostels. In 1st year there will total 3 roomates will live in a room. And from 2nd yead till 4th year you will get your single room. Facilities in a hostels are like unlimited high speed net either through LAN or Wi-Fi, TV rooms, TT rooms etc. Mess gives you breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner at their time. Talking about quality of mess is not too bad nor too good, just eatable. Registration process for hostels is completely online during college registration. And hostels are affordable for a normal guy. In nearby locality for rented room or PG are available but that would some more expensive as well as not convient for students and they will miss the exciting hostel life.

Admission

MNIT is an national institute of engineering. Criteria of admission in MNIT is through JEE MAINS exam, which conducted by NTA and it is a national level exam. Jee Mains gives 2 attempts in a year and a student can take only 2 drop years to give this exam. After giving the exam and having scorecard, there is cut-off fir each category of student based on their caste reservation. After this if students are elegible then they would went through a JOSSA and CSAB counsellings. Here students will there choices in acsending order according to their preference. Now, after JOSSA and CSAB counselling if students gets seat with the branch which he or she mentioned in preference order then, they can take admission in MNIT.

Faculty

4

Talking about qualifications of faculty of my college MNIT Jaipur, that they are really highly qualified as it is a national level institute so they already prove their qualification. Each professor done theri PHD in their specific subject from an IIT or from out of India. Many professors are doing their research with their PHD scholars in the campus. The way of teaching of maximum professors is very appreciable, understanding. Each professor is experienced which is also required in this profession. We can interact with our teachers in inside the class as well in their office in their respective department. Also, you can ask questions outside their subject, like about placements or about higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum includes lab works, workshops and seminars. Which influence the choice to choose the course. But they are lacking to get hands on experience. Though they are guest lectures and seminar which is highly beneficial. Need to provide report on summer internship, industrial training, which is mandatory according to curriculum. Which helps in gaining hands on real life skills. But students still pass this barrier using fake certification and copied reports. And faculty is not strict about this. I believe the latest technologies which is not integrated in curriculum like AI/ ML ,recent frameworks , even if integrated not taughtd in depth. Like we have subjects AI , ML but no practical learning. Assignment are huge burden with little learning we need assessment that tests understanding rather than memorization. More subjects needed on softs skills especially in last year during placement season. Live project with company as all student are not able to land good internships. Frequency of exams like midterm( 2 in 3-4 months) ,practical( at the end of semester just after 2 nd midterm exam). End semester exams - 10-20 days after practical exams.

The curriculum here is inspired from IIT Kanpur and IIIT Hyderabad but most of the courses aree not relevant today like in today's world C language is outdated but they always teach everything in C and in ECE branch the courses are considered to be the toughest and maximize of them are not relevant today.

Placements at MIT are excellent and begin in the seventh semester. Our college attracts top tier companies and for the 2024 graduating batch. Major recruiters included Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Adobe, and Samsung. The placement statistics are very strong with the highest package being 52.28 lakhs per annum, the average package Being 14.5 lakhs per annum with over 95 percentage of students participating in the placement process My personal plan after getting my degree to join a leading tech firm as a software development engineer, I want to gain a few years of industry experience to apply the practical skills. I've learnt that before deciding on further specialisation or higher studies.
