Course Curriculum Overview
So in first year you have to study basic subjects of nearly every branch.which is quite boring and irrelevant .But there are too many practical labs that keeps thing interesting and fun to learn. As the course proceeds some really good subjects that are relevant to your course are introduced which are helpful according to industry standards.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like jp morgan and google give internship opportunities to students from 3rd year. I am not sure about the roles offered as i am in first year. But you have to maintain above 7.5 cgpa for being eligible to apply for this offers.
Placement Experience
You start getting placements opportunity from the 3rd year from some mainstream companies and full time placement offers are given in 4th year.Being a nit top companies like microsoft, google, amazon, jp morgan visit campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am from sc category and my tution fees are ?0 but i have to pay ?36000 as institute fees . There are many scholarships available ,such as state government scholarships by rajasthan ,up and other states. Reliance scholarship is also available.also there are various scholarships for female candidates.
Campus Life
There are various clubs like think india , mavericks (mass and media club, drama club, sports club , singing club etc. Every year a technical fest called sphinx(november first week) , a cultural fest called blitzschlag(february first week) ,and sports fest called MST(march) are held every academic year.Size of library is small but nearly every type of book is available ,let it be your course related books or some extra curricular book. There is computer centre(cc) in the academic building which is accessible 24 hrs with good internet facility. You can access mnit wifi around the campus. There are 2 projectors in every classroom making it easy for professors to teach. Coming to sport facilities i would say it is not that good . Cricket ground is small, badminton court has become old now. Coming back to clubs Coding club is not that active so the coding culture is not there as expected.
Hostel Facilities
There are 15 hostels in total including both boys hostel and girls hostels. I live in h-15 (aravali hostel).it is newly built so the rooms are big and well furnished ,you get a bed, chair , table and cupboard to keep your clothes. But the mess food is not that good in most of the hostels. But some hostels are very old and have small rooms and stinky bathrooms. You have to register on erp portal of mnit every semester for hostel allotment.
Admission
I applied for colleges in delhi like nsut and dtu and also got them.but chose mnit jaipur cause of the pollution factor in delhi.on the other jaipur is extremely good and peaceful city to live in as compared to delhi.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is good, there are plenty of professors. It is easy to approach any faculty ,you can go to their cabin anytime.A midterm and endterm exam is conducted in every semester.most faculties are good and well qualified but some are just bad at teaching.
Night Life
A brand new gym has been made in campus recently which is open from 5am to 9 pm but is closed during class hours. Library is accessible till midnight.I would say night life is not that good as most of things around campus closes by 11 pm and girls are not allowed outside hostel after 10 pm. Some famous hangout places are the coffee jar(TCJ),saras parlour and pmc(inside the campus).locality is safe as the campus is in well developed area in jaipur.
