Likes
- First of all this is a IIIT, so it will give you a leverage from all the other colleges in terms of placements and culture. If we talk about academics the classes and attendence are really flexible for the first year as I have experienced till now.
- The classes are short and the new academic building is in use now so there will be vented ac no problem from the heat, as for the hostel the space might be an issue apart from that hostel is a great place it will have give you a lot of memories.
- The seniors put a lot of effort for improving the culture of the college let it be cultural, sports, hackathon or academic they seem helpful passing the notes and engaging us in every event.
Dislikes
- Construction is yet to be completed, there should be two hostels till now but only one is constructed which can create spacing problems in future and other infrastructure like library will also take time before completion.
- The sporting facilities are very midiocre, the ground is not labelled and Items for every sports are not always available. The completion of a good playable ground will take a lot of time.
- The city itself does not have a lot of place to visit when you bunk the class. You'll find yourself in a pollited environment once outside the campus. So have no expectations for out of campus life. The mess food will be good at first but gets worse.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electronics and communication engineering has a decent average package of 12 lakh per annum because of the core jobs it provides. But the coding culture continues and mostly every ece student will be preparing for software jobs and discovering coding skills. The subjects for the first year remains same for every branch except for the second semester where mea and mnc branch gets engineering mechanics and ece and cse gets engineering materials. There are no proper schedule expect for end sem and mid sem exams except that class test quiz can ne declared anytime could of any number and could be 2 or 3 or how many the professor desires.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of campus internships are available if you got the right skills for the job. As in the first year most of the time you spent is in building and improving your skill set so you enger in the internship world in the second year which I am yet to enter and explore. But as of my seniors most of them did find themselves a great internship with decent stipend. They created real life projects for example one of the senior created a website where every previous year paper of the college was uploaded and he was accepted as a web developer in physics wallah (pw).
Placement Experience
The students gets eligible for campus placements from the 3rd year. Various companies like Amazon, infosys, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech mahindra, Mindteee, Accenture visisted the campus. The latest highest package offered is 89lpa by amazon and the average for pakage is around 15 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed is remarkable and even after the recession going on in tech companies the placement percentage was better than most colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees is around 1 lakh for every semester and including other fees it gets around 120000 for every semester except for admission which requires 20000 more and moreover hostel fee and mess fee are excluded they are around 20000 and 16000 for every semester. There are opportunities for scholarship in the campus, the faculty also provides all information and how you can apply for a scholarship, are you eligible or not so in terms of scholarship the institute is supportive. With the help of seniors and peers yiu can have accesd to many internship programme and there are also roles in the college itself like club leads from which you can have leader experience
Campus Life
The annual sports fest for IIIT Bhagalpur is called Udyatva, we participated in the event with enthusiasm and it was worth it. It has many sports and also prizes for winning. The only problem was uncompleted ground cause its making is still in progress which caused many difficulties during the event's organization. The techno-cultural annual fest of our college is College Enyugma, for this year the fest was canceled due to some unknown reasons, but we participated in the background work of the preparation of the fest, got to learn a lot and was an explicit experience. The clubs are active and conduct a lot of events time to time so not an option to get bored in the campus. A group called unnati is started in our colleges by my batch students with the initiative of teaching the students in local schools about technology. And moreover our fees portal for the college is also made by our college students.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel is great you get provided with a bed, a study table and chair with lamp light attached to it. You also get a lamp, a night light in the room and a room have 3 members in it. The only problem there exists is of space cause the completion of the second hostel will take some time till then you may have to adjust 4 member a room. The locality does contain pg's and rooms with not much distance.
Admission
The college acceptes the percentile of JEE mains competetive exam and for the branch ECE in my year 2023 the cut-off were around 43000 but after conducting csab counselling the cutoff went to around 60000. Well, the cut-off trend can change every year.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very low as there are not many facilities present. Some are very productive teachers and just by listening to them class will be enough for good grades while there are others for which you may have to take help of youtube. You can always put a doubt and interaction with the faculty is always available during the working hours. Overall, all faculties are professionals and some are friendly in their way, they are worth listening and interacting with.
