Course Curriculum Overview
I took the course of Aerospace Engineering because of my huge interest in space technology. The curriculum was very theoretical which doesn't immediately prepare you for real-world application. Pursuing higher studies is recommended.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of big tech firms come for intership for 2nd and 3rd year students. Universities from abroad also come with research internship role. Stipends can vary from 5 lakh to 20000 per month. A good resume and academic record can get you a good stipend.
Placement Experience
After 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. The interviews starts in December after seventh semester. Numerous MNCs and IT , Finance, and trading companies offer veriety of positions.I have also secured an offer through placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee is 100000/- for indians and 300000/-for foreign nationals. There are government funded scholarships i.e. MCM. You can also get financial aid from alumni association according to your cpi and annual income criterion.
Campus Life
Annual cultural festival: MOOD INDIGO (Asia's largest cultural festival). Annual technical festival: Techfest Both are held in december and are entirely organized by students. Our central Library has numerous books in wide range of topics. A/C rooms available for students to study in library. Classrooms are equipped with digital boards and projectors.
Hostel Facilities
In first three years of college we were provided with double accommodation in hostel 15. In our final year, we shifted to a different hostel with single rooms for everyone which is hostel 10. Foodwise hostel 10 is way better than hostel 15.
Admission
IIT Bombay takes students for B.Tech programs from JEE Advanced rank. The counselling process is done by JOSAA. Yes, reservation benefits are available for SC/ST, OBC, EWS and PWD. You have to submit all the documents at the time of admission including your category certificate.
Faculty
The faculties at IIT Bombay are excellent. They are all PhD in their domain from prestigious colleges. Professors are very approachable. You can email them and schedule a meet to discuss anything. Student can also ask professors to under any project of their interest.
