- The campus is modern and well maintained with expansive greenery and well equipped laboratories, libraries and sports facilities. It had a very beautiful and aesthetic appeal
- Reva university offers wide range of courses for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. It had highly qualified and experienced faculty members who were very supportive and I had mini projects and 2 major projects.
- We had regular workshops and seminars which I found very useful.
Dislikes
- Slow administration processes throughout college life
- Some teachers were not upto the mark to be hired in such a prestigious college
- The campus is very far from my house and it made daily travelling too tiring. I couldnt come back home easily after my friends decided to bunk as they stayed in hostels or within just few kilometers. Public transport options were limited and crowded.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was regularly updated with new faculty every few months. The curriculum offers a strong foundation in core subjects of cs such as data structure, algorithms, os and more. The curriculum updated to include the latest trends. I feel area's for improvement is that they should have hired more experienced faculty. Exams were held regularly with 3 assessment tests in 1 sem with 1 final semester exam. Difficulty level was 8 out of 10. Pretty decent examinations.
Internships Opportunities
I got my Internship through interviews and not through college. I worked for informatica as an intern for 6 months and my role was intern data it analytics. Projects I had done were detection of diabetic retinopathy. It was a pretty good experience
Placement Experience
Placements were okay because I was in the covid batch. All the interviews were through online so that was a bit hassle. Campus placement processes started during my 7th and 8th semester. Many companies visited our college. The Companies I gave interviews to were TCS, dxc, informatica. I got selected in all 3. It was very hard for me to choose out of these options. The placement percentage is around 65-70%. Most of my classmates were placed. And the average salary will be 5 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure breakdown (per year) Government fees - 50,000 College infrastructure fees - 45,000 Bus facilities - 30,000 There was no hike in the fees throughout my four years. Scholarships were not provided in college according to me. I got a scholarship through Government. I got campus selection and did my internship and became a permanent employee overtime.
Campus Life
Overall Campus life was cool with pretty good friends. There were annual festivals where they invited many famous singers and made us play games. Dance programme, singing and instruments showcases and all sorts of fun events were held to balance out academic and extra curricular life. Library had good collection of books including books related to academics as well as novels, biographies and newspaper. I would borrow many fictional novels as well. Classrooms were well maintained with good seating facilities and projectors. Sunlight and space was good. Sports facilties were well provided in our college including cricket, basketball and more. Whoever was interested would go and play in the ground.
Admission
Admission process was smooth as ethere were many people to help you if you had any doubts. I got into this college through my kcet ranking. I personally visited the college for the application form and the application fees was around 1k. Exams were frequently held with 3 assessments and 1 final semester exam. I don't have any issues with the admission process
Faculty
Faculty members hold advanced degrees and were really good in teaching and creating an environment suitable for learning and understanding. Especially sarvamangala ma'am who taught us ml. She made it very interesting and interactive. According to Google, the faculty to student ratio is 32:4 that is 1 teacher for a batch of 8 students. I personally felt that we need more teachers and better teaching faculty. Faculty members were usually generally approachable especially Vinay sir. There could have been many improvements but I was pretty satisfied.
