- Mar Ivanios is located in a commercial area.So students can avail most of their necessities including stationary,food items, clothing and so on.College ground is provided for the students along with a basketball court.College also have placement cell
- The economics department have a retired senior faculty as the HOD along with young teachers who are always supportive.There are three canteens that provide affordable and quality food.The computer centre having about 50 computers provide good wifi.
- In addition,there are two chemistry labs, one physics lab,one biology lab and one biotechnology lab.College offers ncc and nss schemes.There is regular conduction of events including freshers, farewell as well as for its inter college fest- IVANOFEST
Course Curriculum Overview
The course offers a strict curriculum consisting of six semesters.The course I opted for was BA ANALYTICAL ECONOMICS.It was slightly different from the ECONOMICS course in that the former was more analytical and uses various mathematical as well as statistical datas and also looks on to more real life examples.The college conducts regular exams in the form of one internal exams and an external exams in a semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course offers a civil service foundation course in the first year which costs 12000 per semester.The tuition fee of the course is 10000 per sem.In total the whole fees during the course was 84000.There was scholarships offered on the basis of merit.The placement cell provided for job opportunities in federal Bank.
Campus Life
The college provided a very quality social life.There were frequent social programs like freshers,onam celebration, Christmas celebration and so on.There is a ecoscape one day trip in the first year.The final year features the college tour which is a five day trip to the location of the students choice.The second year also have various club activities including arts club,Gandhi club,social club, reading club and so on.The college magazine is also provided to the students.
Admission
The eligibility of the course was a cut off mark of 90 percentage.The application form was available in the college online portal.Application fee was 50 rupees.Reservation was provided for OBC,SC,ST categories as well as one seat was provided for Sports Quota .The college conducts two exams per semester.The interval was more difficult as the teachers hold down on marks.External was comparatively easier.The admission process could be made easier by availing online payment facilities for every payments.
Faculty
The senior faculty as well as the junior faculties are well versed in the field of economics.The classes are enriching and the teachers are always supportive.Any academic doubts can be cleared during class hours or during the interval period.The classes are taught in a very understandable way.They also conduct regular test papers as well as seminars so as to improve the individual skills of each student.
