Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is extremely retarded and when you learn from it, it kind of makes sense why other countries are doing better in science and research. Still had to choose this because all the Indian colleges have some curriculum structure mostly so doesn't make any difference in choosing another course. The curriculum hardly prepares you for the real world its close to nil even the codes that are taught are far left back by the rest of the world ages ago. They also make us complete a 6 month semester in 4 months which is the stupidest idea ever. They don't mention much in the syllabus about how much we have to cover and then during exams give the toughest thing possible. The frequency of exams was every 4 months and timing was for morning hours mostly.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee was around 17, 000 and examinations would come anywhere between 1.5 to 2.5k per semester. Fee increased once in the past 4 years by 1k mostly. There are a lot of scholarships available including the ones for tuition and other facilities like hostel. Travel expenses are not covered. Campus placements are very low and most science courses aren't eligible to sit for them.
Campus Life
The campus life is the only thing thriving, amazing social life, amazing fests are held with people and celebrities from most corners of the country performing for us. The books are easily accessible and sports are also mid.
Admission
The admission happened during the pandemic time so it was very hassle-free. Everything was mostly online on the DU portal. Reservations are given in huge numbers but I haven't availed it. Exams are held after every 4 months and during peak holiday season too.
Faculty
Overall 150 students were in the physics department, and there was a faculty of 6 professors and 5 lab staff. Faculties qualified from IITs were terminated within a year and the new faculty who came weren't that qualified and taught horribly compared to the earlier faculty, only a few exceptions were there. Classes were mid and not worthy of attending. YouTube videos taught so much better. Most teachers were reading textbooks as it is and not giving any physical implications of the same. Some faculty were approachable and by some, I mean two of them, the rest don't bother much and have no sensible advice to give.
