Automobile Engineering life @ PDEU

Saw the images of BMW engine and certain high end tools which draw many students into taking admission including myself. That engine we never got to work upon and those tools were not of PDEU but were of IACE. Curriculum was good but time of taking it was not. There were 4-5 hour breaks between lectures during some days which resulted in time waste for us. Exams are of moderate level, it depends from student to student..

I worked for Tata motors passenger vehicles ltd. Sanand plant for 1.5 months after completion of 6th sem. No stipend was available. Job role was to observe and manage logistics and high end equipments. Due to NDA cannot describe more.

In the final year students becomes eligible for campus placement. (i.e, 7th sem) TCS, MG, Hyundai, Alstom, Samarth e mobility and several others visited. Highest offered was 6.8LPA. Avg is 2-3 LPA. 33% students have been placed. Many of the notifications through email were purposefully not sent to automobile students. One faculty noticied it and fought for us. Otherwise percentage of students getting placed would be much less. I am considering Higher studies after the degree.

During our tenure there was no hike in tution fees. Total we paid was around 9,60,000. + 13,000 Deposit for Library which will be refunded after completion of degree. For extra transcripts the rate will be 500 then 1000 and goes on. For creating new identity cards rates will be 150-200. There were no other compulsory charges. But you have to pay fines to library if returned late (2rs/day) or any damage caused. MYSY and several other scholarships are offered. Firstly you have to pay 1,20,000. After some time you will receive 50% back. (Only to those who are eligible) No assistance is provided (such as paying this much amount at this time and this much after some months due to financial instability), You have to pay it in full before deadline. For claiming the fees mails are sent one month before starting of the semester.

Events; Osail : February Flare: April Energy cup for sports Many clubs available like Jharokha, Rotoract, Bulls & Bears etc. Many hackathons are also arranged. Lots of books and journals are available in Library along with e-library. Several charging ports are available under desks. Smart teaching is used and rooms have 4 air conditioners and proper ventilation.

Everything is available at official website of the institution. I applied through ACPC based on GUJCET and 12th Score. My rank was around 10000. There are 3 rounds out of which I got selected in 1st round. The semester is of 6 months, 4 months teaching, half month exams and rest vacation.

All the faculties over here are Phds and majority of them have received Phd certification from IITs. In our batch the faculty to student ratio was 1:30 In our initial years faculties were quite arrogant but in our last two years, the faculties we had were very helpful and polite towards each and every student. For communication after the lectures, mail and/or Ms teams can be used. Some even replies to you at late night if the matter needs urgent attention. For each and every student, Faculty advisors are allocated who helps students in every possible way.
