Course Curriculum Overview
As of now PICT is affiliated to SPPU which results in bit of outdated syllabus but from this academic year onwards PICT will be autonomous. Because of being autonomous the college can set it's syllabus according to its own and conduct its own exams. The only thing college should consider is giving students more time for personal development rather than engaging them with college assignments
Internships Opportunities
Good number of students get internship opportunities and pre-placement offers. Many companies from 'Fortune 500' also visit the campus Students are awarded certificates from the industry on successful completion of the internship You can manage to get internship in good product based companies in Pune like Nvidia , IBM etc
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for internships from 5th semester and can even get pre placement offers by the 6th or 7th semester. Companies start recruitments from 7th semester and the average package of PICT is 10-14 LPA depending on your branch
Fees and Financial Aid
The current batch of BE has paid ?98,985 as first year fee but for second year fee will be ?92,345. As the college will be autonomous from this year it is expected that fees will be increased to a great extent. Scholarships are provided on the basis of caste. OBC students can avail upto 50% scholarships. College has good placements
Campus Life
PICT's annual flagship event is INC. It is a technical event and many people from the tech industry visit during this event. The annual sports event is Elevate and inter-college basketball and volleyball competition is held Sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus are average.
Admission
There are reservation benifits on the basis of caste and income. OBC student's parents having annual income below 7 lakhs can get criteria benifits during admission Exams are easy. 4 exams are conducted throughout the semester. 2 are internal and 2 of them are conducted by university
Faculty
Pros: The faculties in the college are well qualified in their particular field and have thorough understanding and knowledge of the topics. They are very well trained in covering the topics. Many of the professors are even graduated from reputed institutions like IITs and NITs. Proper guidance is provided by them. Cons: Some faculties are too strict and can be troublesome during submissions. They will also not allow you in the classroom even if you are late by a minute. Few professors are unable to convey their knowledge properly. Conclusion: Engineering colleges are more of self study than learning in college so do not expect much from professors
