Our college is located in Thakur Village which is very close to Kandivali local railway station and besides that there are buses every now and then that connects to several parts of Mumbai and suburbs from close to our campus.
All the classrooms are air-conditioned and have latest machineries to make it a completely digital classroom.
There's a state of art recreation room in the campus building and also a huge auditorium to accomodate events and some gues lectures every now and then.

Dislikes

Just one canteen and that makes it really difficult to grab food from there as college strength is quite high and a single canteen is not enough to cater them all.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college was close to my house and more importantly I talked to various students and they told me placements of CSE branch are quite good. Hence, that was my only motivation to join this college and course. Teaching methods are modern and to study the future as CSE studies we have to be futuristic so I don't want the teaching method to change one bit.

Placement Experience

Placements are good as 6 out every 10 students gets placements here. I am talking about CSE as other branches don't have the same placement record and on and average students get 5-6 Lpa jobs easily through the campus placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees was 140000 in first year and today it is 160000. So it has increased and it keeps increasing by 8-10k a year. Maharashtra state government has given various scholarships for the students who are from Mumbai or for that matter Maharashtra. Students of backward class gets 30-40% scholarships and apart from that also the college has a long roster of scholarships available for students.

Campus Life

Two of the biggest technical fests that are celebrated at campus are tech festz Zephyr and Hackanova. The cultural fest Sojourn is also celebrated on a large scale and every year we have a motivational speaker invited or a celebrity invited to give us a pep talk. Sporting facilities are limited as campus is small.

Admission

MHT-CET and management quota there are both options available. Students who enroll through entrance gets concession in their fees while fees of management quota students is quite high. Reserved category students gets not just the discount in fees but also to some extent in entrance scores too. CET forms are available online and then you can apply for Thakur College through their website.

Faculty

Around 40 odd faculties for our branch that has almost 500 students. If my maths is correct it is 1:13 the ratio of faculty to students. All the faculties and even lab assistants are IITians and have enormous teaching experience under their belt to guide us thoroughly in each of our practical sessions.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. i got in this college through mht cet and i wanted to go into tcet as it was near to my house and one of the main reason is placement.
