Calming Life at SMIT

First of all the course BCA which i chose was because of the trend in market of Computers and AI and digital technology and my decision for the college and course never dissapointed me as college always focuses on curriculum and teaches as per the syllabus. Moreover the faculty never gives pressure to learn something only from books but they always ask one to work practically on the subjects taught. The subjects taught are in regular use in the real world. Here we are taught about the back-end and front-end site development , designing any websites and many more. Exams here in the college are conducted on a regular basis , say every month which includes internal exams such as quizzes and regular internals and a End Semester exam.

Internship opportunities are also very great. Here internship and placement cells are peresent which helps students to join internships. Even the college creates opportunities and invites comapnies for the internships which allows students to gain a lot of experience on the basis of these internships.

After 5th semester the students are eligible for campus placements opportunity. And the placement opportunity is above 95% . Various companies such as Dell, Infosys, Infotech, Wipro, Amazon, etc. come for placement and offer around 3.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs of packages to the students. The highest package offered for BCA students are 7 lakhs and average is 4.5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree is to get a join to get an experience and then pursue MBA or MCA.

The fee structure, when I took admission was 98000 for the tuition fees and 130000 for the hostel and mess fees. For this year the tuition fees have been increased to 110000 and hostel fees have increased by 20000. The college offers various scholarships such as scholarships for SC/ST/OBC and EWS category and scholarships are based on one's marks of 12th.

Campus life is very interesting as there are regular fests and events organized in the college. There is a central library in the college which offers a large variety of books and journals inside the library. Facilities inside the classrooms are also good. Smart boards are present with HDMI cables and a MIC and speaker. Extracurricular activities are also promoted in the college such as sports events, various competitions and different clubs which make life at SMIT a very interesting life.

The hostel life is also very exciting with hostelers facing very less problems. 24/7 wifi connection , water facilities and elecrricity makes life more easy in hostels. The meal quality of the mess is neither bad nor that good its average. There is no registration process for Hostel. One after gets registered to the college is given a hostel on their preference.

For the BCA course, the admission process was not that tough. One just has to apply through the official site of the SMIT portal and once the application gets shortlisted you'll get a call from the college regarding the admission and will be selected on the basis of the 12th marksheet.

The faculty members and the teachers of the college are just very good. With the best qualifications we have out great faculty. They never force on book based learning but focuses on practical learning. One can go to the chamber of teacher whenever he/she needs in the working hours and teachers are always and always ready to solve the doubts wirhout any hesitation or asking students to come after certain period of time. The faculty to student ratio is also good. We have a TG or Teacher Guardian for every 15 to 20 students just like a class teacher in school who takes care for each and every thing of students.
