All about Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology

I was interested in choosing some new courses which have more scope in future. That's why i decided to choose Artificial Intelligence. There are more topics in the syllabus which is currently very old. Those topics should be avoided from the syllabus. Internal exams are conducted in 1 month gap. There will be 2 internal exams.

Students are eligible for campus placements during 6th semester onwards. There are many companies offering placements in this campus. TCS, Wipro, Infosys and more good companies have made offers in this campus. Highest salary package here was 20 LPA. Average salary package is about 5 LPA. There is about 30% of students getting placed.

Tuition fee structure for merit students are 75000/- per year. For management students, fees per year is 135000/-. And for NRI students, fees per year is 165000/-. There are minor courses too according to KTU. They are not compulsory. But that cost 500/- per exam. End semester exam fees is about 220/- per subject. Lab exams costs higher(400-500).

Technical and cultural fests are there in the campus. During odd semesters, there is technical fests which is named as 'Ashwamedha'. During even semesters, there is cultural fest which is named as 'Brahma'. Library facilities are good. Most of the books are available in the library. Sometimes, we face shortage in books too. Sports activities offered in the campus are cricket, basketball and volleyball.

Hostel facilities are below average. Room facilities are ok. There are study tables and bed provided in the hostel room. Meal quality is very poor. Most of the time we won't be able to eat that food. It's a common complaint here. Hostel fees is about 16500 per year. And mess fees is about 3200 per month.

I got admission here in merit quota. My rank was about 32000 in KEAM. There was an OBC reservation for me. So I got admission in the third allotment. Cut-off for general category was 27000 rank. Semester exams takes place in 6 months gap.

Faculty members are well educated. Most of the faculties are PhD holders. Teaching methods are good. But most of them are not able to complete there portions on time. Students are completely free to approach the teachers. Teachers are very interactive with the students.
