Good campus life, need better placement opportunities

The curriculum is similar to all other institutions in the country. The curriculum matches with top institutions of the country and is also sufficient for preparation of exams like GATE. Improvement can be brought by increasing the integration of projectors and smart classes in the course curriculum as the facilities are already available. There is a mid-semester exam and an end semester exam for each subject. Before midsem and end semester exams, a quiz is conducted for each subject . The examinations are moderately difficult.

Multiple companies such as Atlassian, Arcesium, Microsoft, Salesforce, Tata Steel, Oracle etc visited the campus for placements. The roles offered were software engineering intern, management trainee, graduate trainee etc. If students wish to work on a project, they can collaborate with their professors and work on them.

The students are eligible for placements after they enter their 4th year. Although, placement statistics have not been shared for the year, around 130 companies visit the campus each year. Companies like Microsoft, Atlassian, Oracle etc visited the campus and multiple offers were given by them. The highest package was 84 lpa by atlassian. Average package is around 9-10 lakhs per annum. I plan to sit for placements and get a job and do it after my degree.

Tuition fees increases each year by 10 percent. The entire fees minus the mess charges is around 14 lakhs for the entire 4 year course for my batch. GP Birla scholarship is awarded to meritorious students, as well as for merit cum means students. Scholarships ranging from 25 to 100 percent freeship are awarded each semester to top performers based on their performance.

The campus life is amazing. Multiple fests are held year long. Pantheon is the annual technical fest , and BITOTSAV is the annual cultural fest of the college. They are typically held in October and February respectively. All the books prescribed in the course curriculum are available in the college library with a wide variety of journals available as well. Multiple clubs and societies are there in the college which conduct multiple events. An annual sports fest is conducted as well in addition to inter college cricket tournament. Multiple technical and cultural societies are there in the college which help the students improve their technical as well as cultural and interpersonal skills.

The rooms are big and well ventilated. Each single sharing room has a bed and a table. Each room has a LAN connection which provides fairly good internet speed. The menu of the hostels are decided by the student body elected by the residents of the college itself. The meals are fairly good in the quality. The rooms are affordable for the price, and since the college is residential all students are alloted a room by default.

Eligibility is to appear for JEE Mains exam. The eligibility criteria is same as that of IITs and NITs system. The exam has 3 subjects: Physics Chemistry and Maths. A qualifying criteria is present as well based on the board examinations ie a minimum percentage is required below which admission is not given even if the student clears the JEE Mains cutoff.

The faculty to student ratio is fairly good as compared to other institutions. A lot of teachers are really helpful, and all the faculties are well qualified in their respective fields. Most faculties are diligent and available for the students, some of them are not as involved with the students and are always busy with the administrative work. Otherwise, all of them devote time to students whenever they are free.
