Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The syllabus is mostly theory based and it it outdated when compared to todays technological sphere. The course although autonomous follows the former KTU syllabus and it high time that it is to be updated. The syllabus stresses more on theorotical knowledge rather than practical knowlege and experience. The curicullum very hardly prepares us for real world applications but there is great scope and time for self learning and it does wonders. The curicullum should be revised to incorporate the newest technologies and more stress on practical knowlege should be promoted. The frequency time and difficulty of exams are quite well. There are two internal exams and one end semester exam per semester.

Internships Opportunities

2

Intership mentorship will be provided by the respective departments but the majority of interships are applied by the students themselves. A company called Benf consultancy pte ltd had offered an internship oppurtunity recently and is in python django web development and natural language processing.

Placement Experience

4

The placement drive is from the 7 th semester and wide varities of job offers are provided from various companies. Some of the companies are Soti, Tcs, south indian bank, ibis, EY, wipro. The highest salary package is 7 LPA and the lowest is 2LPA. In my course a majority of students were placed till the last year but due to recession the placement is considerably low and is about half compared to last year. My plan is get a placement in a good comapany with good salary.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The campus offers quite well scholarship offers for the students. Two of them are merit cum scholarship,Pragathi scholarship. The complete cost of the course is about 4 lakhs. There is great space for campus enjoment and a variety of job roles of responsibilties are offered to students for various college events and as part of various clubs.

Campus Life

4

The greatest positive of this college is its annual techno cultural fest held every year most probably at the moth of march. The college has one week of programs started by the national level project exhibition SHRISTI. It is held for two days. It is then followed by the college day PRATITYA which is organised by the final year students. At last there comes the inter college fest NAKSHATRA spanning over two days and is organised by the third year students. A wide variety of competitons are organised where students from all over the state participate. In all these days there is a wide range of celebrities as guests or as judges to various events. The main highlight of these days is the proshow at the end of the day and is the greatest experience of college life.Famous bands are invited for this and is the most enjoyable memory for a majority of students.

Admission

The eligibility of my course was class 12 with aggregate 60 percent marks and in the physics, chemistry, mathematics as compilsory subjects. The application form is avaulable in the official website of college www.saintgits.org and it is completely free. The course is divided into 8 semesters and there are two internal exams in a semester followed by an end semester exam. The difficulty level is quite okay. The admission process is also very good and no improvements need to be taken.

Faculty

2.5

There is a good faculty to student ratio and they are very helpful in matters when it comes to academics and co curicullar activities. All the staff are highly qualified and pose good experience in the teaching field. Most of the staff are impartial towards students and every class is assigned with 5 mentors called staff advisors and they are approached by students for any matters or any doubts. There is a good space for students and teachers to intereact freely. Most of the staff members are friendly towards students and this promotes a good teacher student realtionship.
