Dislikes
- Classes were held in a big auditorium which became too crowded sometimes that hindered the learning process
- Although study material was relevant and thorough it was not printed properly and the paper quality used was also not up to the mark.
- There were a lot of students in one batch so the examination centers (which very a few only) got very crowded during exam days .
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum attracted me because I wanted to start my career in finance so this was probably the best kick start to it.. The curriculum covered all the various aspects of the financial majors . And gave students a thorough knowledge about it It included subjects like accounts, management, business mathematics, English, financial management, income taxation, goods and service tax, etc. It included a lot of topics that gave a theoretical representation of the real world senarios and the various things one might do in order to cope up in those situations. Although course had many theoretical representation of practical world but in lacked the practical practicing the knowledge that we gained throughout the course. The frequency of examination was optimum but the difficulty level of exams could have been increased.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees remained some what constant throughout the course which was 4500 . It included the cost of the Classes, study materials, examination fees etc. The fees of the course and the college is very affordable and almost any one can afford it but for some one who cannot afford it there was a scholarship available for them as well . After showing the required documents one can obtain scholarship from the college as well. Although there was a campus placement cell It was not very active and didn't really help anyone to land a job while studying.
Campus Life
There were not a lot of festival celebration but there were a few events that took place like college fests where students from school of open learning could go to for celebrations. Also there were some cultural fests where some students performed. The performances included classical dancing, classical singing etc. There were some clubs and societies as well like nature club and sport community etc The sports community managed all the sports events and also prepared the teams for the upcoming sporting events.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is one has to clear class 12 with any recognized board with atleast 60% marks and also had obtained mathematics in class 12. The admission process was both offline and online. The offline process included obtaining form from fthe sol office and filling it along with documents that are required to be attached. And after paying the registration fees one can be admitted . The online process is also very convenient as it one can access the application through the site of school of open learning. And fill it along side uploading the required documents and after paying the registration fees in online mode one can be admitted. The examinations were held twice a year , the examination were not very difficult to pass .
Faculty
The faculty members engaged with the teaching process were highly qualified and were very exuberant in their teaching methodologies. They also made a recording of each class held so that students who missed to attend the class in person could access the lessons anywhere . Also the teachers conducted doubt sessions so that students could get their doubts cleared. In the early years the Classes were in online mode due to covid but after that weekly Classes were held in the centres. The students who attended the classes very in a large number that caused the auditorium to become crowded and the study session was hectic also the student to teacher ratio very very hight and sometimes reached to 1:150. Teachers could be interacted after the classes in the staff room for doubts.
