- First reason why NBN is a good college is it's placement. This College has a better placement ratio than any other colleges in the campus. The training and placement cell is very active.
- College is located in the main vadgaon campus of the Sinhgad Institutes. This gives you access to all the events happening in the campus.
- The annual fest "Sinhgad Spring Fest" is an opportunity for students to explore themselves by participating in many events. It is one of the biggest college fests in Pune.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure of the college could be better. There is only one building including all the departments.
- Compared to other colleges like SKN and SCOE there is less participation in extra curricular activities.
- Teaching staff keeps on changing resulting in irregular lectures. But this can be an advantage because students get a lot of time to explore things.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I belong to the Information Technology branch in BE, I will say this is the easiest branch that you can get in engineering. The whole curriculum is so much predictive. The syllabus is a little outdated but also has some important and new subjects to make it relevant. Exams can be easily cracked because all the questions in the exams comes from previous year exams.
Placement Experience
The training and placement cell of this college is very active. Many companies visit for campus placement. For our batch, around 80 companies visited. Highest package was 16LPA and average package is 4LPA. For 2024 batch 30-40% of the eligible students are placed which is higher than other colleges. Companies like Accenture, TCS, Nvidia, Hexaware, PTC, BNY Mellon, HSBC and many more offered jobs to the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
For general category, the college fees is around 1 lakh rupees. For OBC it is 60k and for SC/ST it is 10k. Fees for hostel and mess is 72k including 5k deposit. The college provides a student employment program to support students with humble financial background where they get to work in college premises like library or labs and will get paid for that.
Campus Life
As NBN is located in the Sinhgad Institutes Vadgaon campus, we can access all the facilities of the main campus. The overall ambience of the college campus is very nice with abundance of trees. College provide facilities like gym, swimming pool, badminton court, cricket ground, library etc. There is an annual college fest called as Sinhgad Spring Fest which is one of the biggest college fests in Pune where students with extracurricular talent can showcase their talent. College has an artist circle which participates in many inter college competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility of this college is great. The hostels are big with big rooms and hostel area. The quality of food depends on which mess you opt for. Some of the hostel messes provide very good food. The hostels are comparatively affordable and you can register for them during the admission process. There are many apartments and buildings in the campus where you can find pgs and flats on rent.
Admission
For admission, you have to give MHT-CET exam for engineering entrance. The average cutoff of this college for general category is above 85 percentile. College also provide admission on the basis of JEE score and management quota. However the document verification process needs to be streamlined.
Faculty
There are some very good and experienced faculty members and also there are some faculties who themselves lack in teaching. Some of new faculties don't really teach that good but senior teachers are good. They just focus on term work and assignments more than anything. Even if you don't know what's given in the assignment, they will not mind it.
Other Applied Colleges
Smt Kashibai Navale College of Engineering - [SKNCOE] Vadgaon | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Information Technology)
Just because NBN is better option for students who want to prepare for any competitive exam or any extra curricular career option. The college gives you liberty and time to do your thing and SKN is far more strict college.
