What Students Say
Likes
- The thing I really like about my college is the vast campus and supportive nature of students and staff that makes your social exposure and college life very easy. The events and fest conducted are one of the best in the whole city and are looked for
Dislikes
- One thing I dislike about my college in particular is the crowd..if you're expecting the crowd to be similar to that of MIT and Symbiosis then you'll be disappointed.
Internships Opportunities
Internships over here are again decent as well. There's a placement cell that helps you in these matters. Highest packages offered was around 45lpa and average packages go around 8-9 lpa over here with the minimum being 2-3 lpa. The companies that visit us for placements are TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, PTC, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Microsoft, Nvidia and many more big tech companies.
Placement Experience
The placement and internships over here are again decent as well. There's a placement cell that helps you in these matters. The students become eligible for placemmts in the Third year of their degree that is the 6th semester. Highest packages offered was around 45lpa and average packages go around 8-9 lpa over here with minimum being 2-3 lpa. The companies that visit us for placements are TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, PTC, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Microsoft, Nvidia and many more big tech companies. Currently the percent of students getting placed is 86 percent. The college also helps you if you want to study further and pursue masters or MBA here or abroad. I myself am planning to go abroad for further studies.I'm gonna be pursuing Masters amd then do MBA as well
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is like this.. for me I'm paying 1.08 Lakh per year. Im from general category so that will be my fees. There are several scholarships and aids available that provide consession in fees. The fees for PBV students is arounf 65k and for SC ST it is around 8k. The scholarships are made available to students via MAHADBT which has multiple scholarships. Even EWS category is there.
Campus Life
Campus also has a Library where thousands of books are available for every course. Library is 24/7 open for students and can occupy well over a 1500 to 2000 students at a time. The campus also consist of sports complex and turns and ground for the sports event that are conducted throughout the year. There are numerous clubs, social, cultural, sports, or technical related that student can join for their extra curricular activities. Students also run institutes social media handle and other websites. All these events, fests, clubs, and social groups play a very vital role in overall development in student's personality as well as skill sets.
Hostel Facilities
I've lived in the college hostel for a year and it is decent as per hostels go. You've to opt for hostel separately. Then you're alloted with a hostel and a mess after all the payment and formalities are done. Hostel and mess fees I paid was 72,000 and without mess option is also available that goes for 56,000.
Admission
I got admission in this college through MHTCET CAP rounds counselling. Sinhgad Institute is already a well-known and well-reputed institution in Pune. You'll have to attempt the MHTCET exam and get a good score, preferably over 90 percentile to get a good branch or your preferred branch in this college. There are also All India seats allotted through JEE score. I had applied for other reputed colleges of Pune as well, such as VIT, PICT, and PCCOE but my percentile in MHTCET wasn’t enough to pass the cut off for the branch that I wanted in those colleges.
Faculty
The factulty to student ratio is well proportioned. Theres a class of 75 students and for every 15-20 students they have been assigned with a Teacher Guardian, that attends to and keeps check on students academic and other aspects. The faculty members are very approachable and supportive be it in any term. Theyre always there for students and ensure that they are available at all time. Each semester there are 2 exams..first a In-sem or Mid-semester exam that is of 30 marks which is based on first 2 units of a 6 units syllabus. And then theres An End-semester exam ornthe Finals that is of 70 marks..based on the remaining 4 units of 6 units. The exams are in a range of moderate to tough..but it really depend upon the student and their preparation. Usually the exams are moderaatley tougher side and you have to study and work really hard in order to pass and get a good cgpa as well. A lot of students fail in their respective subject. I myself have a few backlog. The course is quite relevant and gice a priper understanding and provides with skill set to work in corporate sectors equipped with technical knowledge about software and hardware.
Night Life
The campus's nightlife i quite lively. Its almost 24/7 as students are always out there. As Hostel timing goes there's no timing for boys its basically "aao jao fhar tumhara" but for girls it's pretty strict.. they have to get back to the hostel by 9pm sharp, otherwise they have to pay hefty fines. Campus also has a very safe locality.
