Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is good and they are based on CBCS scheme, the course is well equiped with all the necessary points that are required in the market these days. I've chosen CSE because of increasing interest and opportunities in this field. I think that the curriculum of CSE is good it only lacks good teaching methods. In first year I was taught cpp on black board let's hope it'll change. Exams are conducted twice a year. They are moderate level and as grading is relative it is easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Very few students got internship this year. Internships roles like web developer , mobile application developer, management trainee , graduate engineer trainee in companies like Tata Steel, TDP role in Optum. Some of students got SWE role at Microsoft. LinkedIn, DE shaw Intuit etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

After 6th semester students are eligible for placements. But pre- offers start in the third year. Many good compinies like Wipro, Infosys, Deshaw, Amazon, Deloitte and Phonepay etc visits nit Raipur. Total 834 offers were made this by 125 companies. 55 lpa was highest package offered and lowest was 4lpa. Average package of this year was 13.7 lpa. 71% of all the eligible students got placed this year. After completing my course I'll try to get placement or I'll try higher studies outside India.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee increase policy in nit Raipur. For BTech course the total fee is 5lakh(including all internal fees) . And with hostel it becomes 7 to 7.5 lakh. Also you can get full tution fee remission if you belongs to sc/St community and if your parents income is less than 1 lakh. If your parents income is less than 5 lakhs then you'll get approx 30% remission. There is lots of scholarships options both government and non government. Some of them are based on cpi and in some of them you have qualify the exam.

Campus Life

3

We have several fests including technical and cultural. They are okish. They are conducted regularly and actively. Some of them are Avataran ( the Tech fest), Avinya ( the Innovation fest) Shruti(the Musical fest), and the annual fest is Evlectica it is conducted in February-March every year. All the classrooma are euiped with smart board and wifi facilities. Some of class rooms have coolars as well. Our Library has all kind of books. It has sufficient books but lacks space the reading area is very small. We have Shaurya (the sports committee) which conducts annual sports fest evey year. We have football, cricket , handball ground, vollyball, basketball courts.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel rooms have chairs, tables, almirah bed and a stand. There are two water coolers one in mess and another one at first floor. Food is not too good not too bad. It's okish. You'll get three meals a day and a nasta in evening. Non veg is served twice a week, mess is closed on Sunday night. You have to eat outside. Menu can changed by mess committee. Its members are four students from each wing. After the admission process you can fill hostel form, you'll need parents photo also. Hostels aren't for all you'll get hostel on basis of your jee rank( and yes there is reservation)

Admission

You have to pass jee mains exam to qualify for this nit and based on your jee mains rank you'll get the branch. For cse open category closes at 13-14k rank. For reserved candidates you can get up to 4000 obc rank, 2300 sc rank and 950 st rank. Jee mains is held twice a year first in January and 2nd attempt in April. This is a difficult exam (difficulty is not that much) For admission process all the required documents along with number of passport size photos of student and parent/ guardian should be informed prior. A temporary Rest room should be made for the parents.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is very high it is 1:90. Almost all faculties are good, they are highly knowledgeable and experienced. All professors are PhD holders and others did there mtech from IITs. But many of them lacks good technique in teaching. Very few faculties are good at teaching and their lectures are interective and interesting. You can contact any faculty on WhatsApp or you can call them. Almost all of them are chill in nature (very few are arrogant or rude)

Placement Experience:

We can do internships after 1st year and 2nd but for the placement it's in 4th year. The training and placement cell of the college has work consistently to bring reputated companies like a TCS Wipro Infosys LNT Infotech etc. the medium package for uses students is like 4 lakh per annum and PG students was about 4 to 5 lakh per annum. However when compared with some of the top tile institutions the package levels and placement percentage highlight the student themselves me to bridge through internship of campus drive and additional certifications. Another noticeable trend is that placements 10 to be more favourable for the branches like computer science and information technology where are School branches of an face lower absorption rates which is common in many engineering colleges. But here off campus placement are really good

Placement scenario is so good as per the stats . Like students are eligible for placements from there 7th sem . No. Of companies visited is around 200 (guess). Offers made 600(guess) . Highest package is 65 lpa , and average package is 9 lpa there are major two roles one is core engineering get role and other is non core data analyst role . 86 % students are placed last year . My plan is to get good placements from college itself and then after experience I will go for MBA or higher studies .

Course curriculum is very outdated and here the facilities more practical and they believe that if you want you can do other field like non-technical fields and something like government exam. There course or syllabus is not industrial ready.

Placement Experience:

Internship for the third and final year students, but not paid mostly. Placements are very few, don't expect placement from any government college in Chhattisgarh. Work on your skill. Companies like Adani came for placement for Mtech mining students. Highest package is of 3.5 lpa, He works in Bangalore. Other students do master. I am working in my skills and I will try for off campus placement or I will go abroad for master or job.

Remarks:

The college was established in 2009 and is therefore still growing. The staff and facilities are working very hard to create exceptions and achievements. As the college is comparatively new from others. Therefore, more hard work can be seen in the part of faculties. This gives students studying now a great advantage to learn and gain more.
