What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is beautiful, greenery everywhere, large open spaces keep you calm. Basically it doesn't feel confined.
Dislikes
- The crowd. If you're a primarily English spoken person, it's gonna be tough for you to find friends
Course Curriculum Overview
Information science I felt was broader in terms of subjects than computer science. So I chose it hoping it would open up a larger number of oppurtunities for me in my masters or employment considering a larger stretch of subjects studied. The curriculum I would say is good. Might not feel like it but it contains all the fundamentals required to be a good programmer, good software engineer, etc. The timing of exams I feel is perfect, timing of teaching is a little slow for the exams though.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available, through JEE, COMEDK, KCET, and REVACET. I obtained a scholarship from REVACET placing high and getting 75000 rupees deducted from my fee every year. The base fee price is 300000 per annum, and I pay 225000. Oppurtunities are high to receive a scholarship and a lot of people are offered one. Employment wise, I am in the 2024 batch where the job market has taken a steep decline, it would be unfair for me to blame or talk ill about the University for not getting placed
Campus Life
I was part of the COVID batch, so if I'm being honest we never had a fest or such. We do celebrate large pujas, and founders day which is celebrated GRANDLY with performances, special guest ( such as Sonu Sood and Shilpa Rao in 2022 ), but that's pretty much it. As far as I know there aren't any clubs or so. Sports wise, the cricket team is spectacular but other sports do suffer quite a bit
Admission
Admission process was smooth, no issues caused. We had a dedicated counsellor just to handle our admission which helped a lot. Although the crowd is high during admission time. So lines may be long and waiting times may be high. Exam timings are good with adequate gap in between them
Faculty
All the faculty are decorated PhD holders but not great teachers. They hold the knowledge but are unable to profess this knowledge. Approachability on the other hand is excellent, whenever free, no teacher will hesitate to talk to you, even if they or on a lunch break. Faculty to student ratio is very well balanced.
