- The functioning of the college especially in my dept. is very disciplined and structured.
- The college has excellent clubs like Mit Motorsports club, which won the national go-kart championship last year along with other clubs like IEEE ,SAE,Rotaract
Dislikes
- Major events - Varnam(Cultural Fest) and Shreshta(Tech fest) no other events. If other events organised it's a luck.
- The scholarship can get cancelled if you fails in exams or get incremented and decremented. It solely depends on your sgpa.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is based under KTU so college have no much say in that, but we are soon becoming autonomous hopefully by this year. Other than that, the courses are all well structured, and depending on department they offers you extra relevant courses , for me from my department VLSI (L&T) and SCADA (Siemens). Other than that , elective courses are also offered. The overall course structure is very good.
Internships Opportunities :
We have an internship offering cell in our college which provides you with internship opportunities with companies like TCS etc. Other than that , department tells you about internship opportunities from other firms which they have tied up like Tech Mahindra etc.
Placement Experience :
The placements offered are excellent. You get placement offers higher here compared to other private colleges like Rajagiri and TocH. Currently even though it is recession, we got many core offers, like L&T Ashok, Leyland, Vguard, RDC cement, Synopsys, Cadence etc for non-IT departments. The average package is 4.5 Lpa. Last year the highest package was 15Lpa(Cadence), and 13 Lpa( Synopsys) both from the Electrical Department. For CS you can get many offers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure at my time of joining was divide into Government quota, Management ,NRI, muthoot employees. For govt quota same as in other colleges. For management quota, every student is selected to different slabs of fee structures : slab 1, no tuition fee , slab 2 ,8.5k/yr , slab 3, 30k/sem , slab 4, 47.5k/sem all slabs along with 26k as administration fee. The qualification of each slab is based on the pcm marks scored in 12th and keam ,that they put you in rank basis. If you scored 100 for maths, you are eligible for slab 1, 90 (slab 2) and it goes. Now the marks has increased to 95 and so on due to increased demands. At my joining time , no donation has to be given and only an extra 10k for caution deposits. For NRI people slab 4, and for Muthoot employees students 4 seats(not sure) are reserved. It's very hard to get into CS departments due to demand. But now the amount of scholarship students from each department has reduced to 10 now.
Campus Life :
Everything is excellent from club involvement, infrastructure, activities etc. Only thing is there is no much cultural programs like other colleges like Tech Fest due to some reasons. Other than that the college offers excpetional clubs and innovation centres for interested students. They also offers internship opportunities.
Admission :
Depending on the rank you got from keam and pcm in 12th you are put into ranking. And first come first serve basis they allow you to choose your departments. The details and eligibility can be found in muthoot site itself. The college offers reservation as in other colleges itself. If you have to book your seat in a department you might have to give some money before but I'm not sure of how much and for every year some changes are incorporated in the admission process.
Faculty :
Every faculty is selected with rigorous process after many interviews. The department comprises of faculties with most of them having Doctoral degrees and lowest qualification is MTech from either govt colleges with experience or from IITs. I can assure we have the best faculties in every department. The student to teacher ratio is typically 60:2 , you have two advisors for your class.
Interview Experience :
You will have to appear for a personal interview or discussion with Vice Principal, principal or Dean.Although this process may change. No group discussion were conducted. You are just put into rank basis for admission.
