Course Curriculum Overview
As a maths hons student, i would say it's a Lot different from what I expected after 12th, you'll get to see abstract algebra and its not easy I know, for that you need to study it with time. It's not that difficult if you're giving your time to it and it's interesting if you look deeply into it. As you see the course is considered to be one of the most difficult courses but it has its advantages, you can further apply for posts like data analysts, you can apply for scientist and since you have maths a bit of computer too you can further pursue masters in computer. The only problem is time, the semester must be of 6 months and its of 3 months now, so teacher and students both struggle to complete it, and it builds pressure because of what students can't really understand what is going on
Placement Experience
Well i would not no placements, placement do take place but only one or two people get places from maths hons, like this year only one student get placed for 12 lakhs. After maths hons, you can further go for academics, or you can go for data analysts, scientist. I am going for government jobs after this.
Fees and Financial Aid
There's NSP AND more scholarships like that, and you get free concession too for that you just need to get your income certificate and it must be updated one. They provide several internships too, research papers, they organise seminars and several workshops also. The fee is average, for my course it's 15k per year and examination fee is less than 1000, depends on the practical exam.
Campus Life
A lot of events do take place, like different societies annual fest, College's annual fest named Manjari, nss and ncc's annual fest, dandiya event, miss DRC, annual day, foundation day. Almost books are available in library , the environment of library is goood. There are AC in the new classrooms built but still the old classrooms are without AC. The college is not as active in sports.
Admission
For doing maths hons, you must have maths in your 12th too You can easily visit du website for the further details, but since now cuet takes place, you can visit nta's website for cuet related queries. You get several reservations the one I got was of OBC quota.
Faculty
The faculty members have done PhDs. And they have their books as well, i would not say all but only a few of the teachers dont really take the course seriously and they rush, but there are some teachers in maths department if talking specifically they give their best everything. There's no hesitation between teacher and student if they want to ask any doubt and the tutorial classes are also held to help students.
