Likes
- Provides opportunity for holistic development
- You can be a part of numerous societies and clubs
- DU provides you with internship and placement opportunities or if not it'd be safe to say that your personal skills will be very honed up to secure any off campus offers.
Dislikes
- If you an outstation student, you may experience some cultural shock
- There's a lot of toxicity in some DU colleges, so it's advisable be invested but always keep your eyes and ears open
- Don't completely trust your peers, it's a race and everyone's chasing the same trophy
Course Curriculum Overview
I pursued bcom, if you're someone who wants to get into consulting, finance, or general business roles, then you should go for bcom. It will give you a sneak peek into the real life business and corporate world. If you want to do an MBA later then bcom + MBA makes a really good combo.
Internships Opportunities
The college's placement provides you with numerous internship opportunities throughout the year, during the month of Feb and March the cell organises an internship fair where we students can register and secure internship from. A lot of companies visit every year from all the domains.
Placement Experience
Students of 5th semester are allowed to sit for the placements. The average placement of Venky is very good as compared to other colleges. Companies like Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, Bain, De Shaw, Futures First, Sir India, Accenture, ZS Associates, etc visit campus every year. The highest package can go upto 24 lakhs, (offered by DE Shaw this year). The average package is somewhere between 5-6 lpa. 70% students get placed every year, others opt for further higher education, i myself will go for an MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had to pay around 16000 annually, to be honest the amount is very reasonable as compared to other universities out there. Plus, you get DU's certificate, which is a added incentive in its own. Yes you can apply for a number of scholarships, although I didn't apply for anyone, if you come from a sports quota, there's a scholarship for you, if you are a state topper you'll get scholarship.
Campus Life
Annual fest of Venky is one of a kind experience, Mohit Chauhan was the artist who performed this year at Nexus. Apart from that, there are a lot of clubs and societies you can be a part of and no please don't feel that you won't get selected at any club. There's a lot, a lot of clubs. And trust me there's space for everyone. The library of Venky is really big, they increased the reading area this year, with lot of books to choose from. We have a sports room with various types of games to choose from.
Admission
I got admitted in 2021, and there was no cuet provisions during that time, I got addmission on the basis of merit. Yes, you get reservation, ther cut offs for reserved students are generally very low. You can easily get a very good college.
Faculty
Faculty in DU is highly qualified professionals, they don't give you unnecessary lectures like school teachers, the professors here are like your friends, you can reach out to them in case of any doubts whether it's course related or personal. They'll always help you.
