Course Curriculum Overview

5

MBBS is the first step to be a physician. To be a doctor means to be a great social help. This motivated me to take up the course. The curriculum is tough and time consuming. The faculties here are just amazing. The course is 4.5 year long with one year of compulsory internship. There are 3 term exams along with final professional exams at the end of the academic year. Apart from these , multiple monthly tests , assessments ,and vivas are also taken

Internships Opportunities

5

Every graduate from the college needs to undergo a compulsory internship at the LNJP hospital associated with the college The other associated hospitals include the GB Pant hospital, sushruta trauma centre and the guru nanak eye hospital The intern needs to learn the practical and clinical applications of medicine practice

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees is nominal with it being 2345 rupees for one academic year. Since it is a government institutions, the price hike is either none or nominal. The college also provides scholarship to financially weak students. These include 1. Maulana Azad student scholarship scheme(02) 2.Usha Darshan Foundation Medical scholarship(02) 3.Dr Neelam Vasudeva Medical scholarship (01) 4.Dr A.C. Gulati batch scholarship (01) Campus employment includes the 1 year internship at the end of the course for which one is paid monthly stipend.Apart from that one can take up research opportunities by working under the professors or the PG residents and earn stipend

Campus Life

4

The college holds its annual fest "SYNAPSE" annually. Apart from that the alumnis celebrate MAMCOS Day each year.MIDCON is held each year as farewell party for the departing batch. The library is big with a vast number of books and journals. Computers are also available with online access. The only con here is the books are old and of old edition. Each classroom has a projector and a blackboard to teach.Lectures are taken either through PowerPoint presentation or classic chalk and board method. Each hostel has basketball court, badminton court and a volleyball court. The college has several society including dance , music, fine arts, drama and a mental health society too

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The girls are provided with a three seater room initially. In second year , they are shifted to a two seater room. In third year they are allotted single seater rooms . The boys are allotted rooms based on rank in first year. It can range from a 2-5 seater room .The girls hostel doesn't have air conditioning facility. Each room is provided with a bed ,a cupboard, a dressing table, a study table and a balcony. The room is spacious and pretty affordable with 6000 rupees a year being charged. The mess food is okayish .Also there a number of other canteens and mess in the campus if you don't like your hostel mess

I want to serve the community so I choose this course , it allows me to heal the people and to help them , And i m the first generation doctor in my family ,so also much happy by choosing this course , and now u can give advice to your parents for opting the healthy habits and lifestyle modifications leading them to love a healthy life . The thing I want to improve in the curriculum is that it should be interacting,, not like that teacher ask and student answer ,, firstly teacher should explain everything about the chapter in a brief manner and then show the presentation and after that he/ she ask the students what they learn ,, what they don't understand and all
